Hi-Tech's are very comfy but wear out quickly and are slippy in the wet. They are more 'functional' than decorative.

Got a pair of style 252 in McArthur Glen, Livingstone for £60. Bargain for class.

Cheers

I have a pair of these dutch army surplus boots, and they're like slippers, even wear them in the summer here.
Next time I'm in holland I'm getting another pair, these are 10 years old, and getting a bit tatty.
They've save my feet a few times, once in a motorcycle accident, boots got scraped quite a bit, but had I been wearing anything else I'd probably have needed surgery.
The only thing you need to do for the first month you have them is cover them in grease every night, once you've done that for a month, they're watertight, and need greasing only once a year.

They cost around 90 euros new, but worth every bit of it.

That's a good call actually, I have a fairly elderly pair of German para boots that I now use in the garden, I'd buy another pair in an instant.

English army boots used to be just plain awful.

Are they still as good as they once were (that's asking for trouble) and where is the best place to buy them?

Cheers

I have been meaning to write a short little reveiw regarding a pair of hill walking boots iv'e been wearing over the past few months,I will tell you a little bit about myself, I love walking and have been a keen hill walker all my life, living in the shadow of the Brecon Beacons how can you not want to walk in those mountains and now aged 52 so you could say I have a huge amount of experience in this department, if you gave me a pair of modern day trainers even though i'm 11st 10lb I would give them back to you in three months ready for the bin, I have through the years owned Miendl boots, Brasher, Lowe alpine, you name them if they are top quality iv'e probably had them, but these last pair I would put them top of my list, for every award, supreme comfort and fit' flexabilty like walking on air toughness,, gortex of course the technical detail of the boot plus the finish is flawless, they are pricey, but you tell me anything that's good dont come cheap, got them from Cotswold clothing £145, wouldn't buy another boot after wearing these.

If you are still thinking of buying some cat boots arco are doing a one day only 50% off on cat safety footwear on Thursday 7th April.

I was given some cat boots because the guy said they were to small for him. I wore them for a week and got some painful blisters. After wearing them on and off for about 6 months they started to soften. After another 3 months of daily wear they are the best boots I have ever worn.
