I know its not for a DE razor but it s a close enough fit in this forum i am sure :)

I just brought a pack of ever ready single edge razor blades from my local chemist. Has anyone tried these Im going to load one into my 1912 later and have a go. My first single edge shave so should be interesting..

heres a link to somewhere that sells these blades:

they don't look like razors for shaving mate, more like boxcutters\paint scrapers.

if it doesn't feel right on your cheek, first WTG stroke - ditch em straight away

I haven't tried those; if you look at the picture they're described as multi-purpose and it goes on to list modelling, craft etc. The one thing it doesn't mention is shaving; I'd take it easy with these. However, nothing ventured...

Let me us know how you get on. if you're stuck I'm sure I can send you a few spares.

I suspect if you flip the pack over though it's made/packed by a healthcare company... and I wouldn't use Elastoplast™ or Micropore™ Surgical Tape (which has never stuck to me ever... even when a former nursey-type OH used it on me to dress a wound and used the whole roll) to put up wallpaper.

Thanks for the offer magicpixie, but I am brave and shall see what these do to my face

The pharmacist said they stocked them solely for people to use in shavers hence in the shaving area of the shop.

Yes they are made by a health care company.

I shall try them tonight and let you know how my face gets on...

Well i have just shaved, im still here blood loss was minimal.

OK I cheated, having never shaved with a single edge razor before, i only shaved half my face with it the other half with my feather portable.

Reason, when i started using the razor it was really pulling, it was cutting the hairs but felt fierce and really noisy, like nothing before. but I went ATG and found it still cutting hairs when the Feather had stopped. I couldnt complete a full shave with this blade it felt to me a bit like the derby did when i first used it.

But it did work and could be really close.

Heres an offer if anyone wants the two blades i have left let me know I would like someone who uses single edge razors to give them a try.

the question is, is anyone brave enough :)

When I was in College I had a job at a local garage valeting new cars, we used those blades to scrape the wax off the windows when the cars arrived sealed from the factory!! I have a box of a hundred somewhere but there is no way it would go anywhere near my face.
They went into a scraper thing similar to this
