I Picked up old blades and wondered if anyone knew where in the UK they would have been Made , and a Rough age ? On the PALs they use the PAL Blade Co. Name on some I saw they use the Personna Company Name , so don't know if this means they predate 1953 when Personna acquired PAL ? Any information anyone has would be very interesting.

I opened some of the PALs and Stars and the PALs say they where manufactured in , not sure how many will be usable as being Carbon Steel many have some rust.

Have a look out for the Star safety razor, its similar to a Tech but heavier and gives a much closer shave.
That's a razor I've been curious about for a long time. As much as I adore my Gillette Tech (ball end handle), I always get a patchy shave even when using a Feather blade. Given my predicament, would the Star Razor provide a more even shave with a Feather blade? I appreciate its a YMMV thing...

I would say it will give you a closer shave, get the brass handle and base plate version, for me it gave a much better shave than a Tech especially on my neck and under my chin, i regret selling mine.

That's an issue with technique & not the fault of the Tech. However, to be fair you will need to go ATG with a Tech in order to get a BBS shave if that is indeed your goal.
I respect your point, but BBS is too stressful for my skin. So I'm strictly a DFS shaver. Of the patchy parts of my beard when shaving with the Tech (after two passes), I've tried on occasion to go ATG, but that effort is simply not worth the reward. I have other combinations where DFS is doable in two passes and a bit of touch-up (no ATG). However I have a lot of sentiment for my Techs. My old boy had one, and I intend to gift them to my lad when he's old enough to shave.
