Anyone help with brand of razor

Just a quick one. I was recently given this razor by my great uncle who passed away. I have no idea about its brand etc so was wondering if anyone can shed any light on its age and manufacturer and if its any good as a razor. Is the edge good or does it need a hone ? I am considering using it depending upon the responses and info here.

Thanks in advance

Not a brand that i recognize, but that doesn't mean anything! Any information about country of origin on the other side of the tang? Chances are it will need honing if it's not been used for a while, but i can't see any obvious reason in your photos why it wouldn't be a perfectly usable razor.

Cheers Bazz. Nothing at all on the other side except for German made and ground.
I was starting to suspect it was maybe a modern "dodgy" razor so have not yet put it near my face for fear of suddenly looking like a fountain
