(almost OT) new Fb group against "toxic masculinity" ad

The person who created the advertising campaign is a left-wing feminist who truly believes in "toxic masculinity". Gillette has every right to let her design their campaign, and I have every right not to buy their products ever again.

Gillette just TRIPLED DOWN on their insane advertising with yet another ad of a Black transgender person. Of course, a "woke" woman is the P&G exec. behind this. I guess she didn't date much when younger.

Can someone please explain what this “woke” thing is? I'm assuming it doesn't mean “no longer asleep”.

@Bogeyman is it the black or transgender part you're objecting to?

Stay woke became a watch word in parts of the black community (in the USA) for those who were self-aware, questioning the dominant paradigm and striving for something better. But stay woke and woke became part of a wider discussion in 2014, immediately following the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The word woke became entwined with the Black Lives Matter movement; instead of just being a word that signaled awareness of injustice or racial tension, it became a word of action. Activists were woke and called on others to stay woke.

It's a BS "movement" to excuse criminal Black behavior, i.e., "thugs". I oppose any group who tries to obtain favored "protection" or who preaches that criminal behavior is really the norm and that the reason for their behavior, e.g., robbery, rape, murder, etc., is because they have been "victimized" in the past. However, this newest Gillette video is trying to shove down the collective public throat the fallacy that transgender is normal and that anyone who opposes it is a POS. Of course, for added effect they made sure it was a minority so if anyone complained the Left could fall back to their "Siegfried Line" of defense which is called "racism". The country is torn asunder politically and it is looking as if another civil war is imminent to be frank.

“Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.”

I've just watched the advert, I don't have a problem with that one either. Considering the number of LGBT people who are not accepted by their parents, the very people who are supposed to love and support them the most, I have no problem with showing the father of a trans man supporting his son.

To be honest I'm having a hard time seeing anything objectionable about the advert at all.
