Alcohol or Balm?

Why limit yourself with using only one. I usually use a alcohol splash and then follow with a balm, my favourite at the moment is Proraso.

A man after my own heart, Most days I alum block after shaving followed by a Proraso splash. I them go eat my bowl of cereal and moisturise/balm before I get redy for work.
 
I've used Taylor's balm for many years, sometimes after alcohol As , sometimes without. It really is the bees knees for soothing.

I use an alum block then AS. I have tried all the Trumper’s AS and either my wife or I didn’t like the smell. I now spend more time then I should in the shops looking for a smell that we both like.
I’m an alcohol guy either on my face or down my throat.
 
Personally post shave I use warm water or cold if there are any weepers.
Lloyds pharmacy witch hazel. cheap and I actually quite like the smell. Good for the face and further attacks the weepers.
Styptic pencil if the above fails else its slap on some Old Spice. (wife repellant).
 
Had a bit of a clear out today and almost threw out a bottle of Old Spice. Had a niff, and it stays. Am going to use it tomorrow for work, and see.
