SOTD : Saturday 15th September - Friday 21st September 2018.

Tuesday 18th September (Tabac Tuesday)

Tabac
YaqI 2 Band Marble Handle
Rockwell 6C R3
Voskhod (2)
Floid Mentolado Vigoroso AS

Dropping from plate 4 to plate 3 on the Rockwell is like night and day -seems very mild but still efficient.
Tabac yielded plenty of voluminous creamy lather without much coaxing. I must use this brush more often.
Finishing with Floid ""Mentally Vigorous"
Feeling smooth amd irritation free

Pre Shave: Face wash with Nesti Dante bar soap
Soap: Faena Philosoap
Brush: SimFix sythetic re-knotted with a 24mm Ap Shave Co SynBad knot
Razor: Rex Supply Co. Ambassador (3/3/2)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Post: Faena Philosoap Balm

First use with this soap and like other Faena products I have tried to date, it didn't disappoint, the soap comes to life with water and the post shave feel from both the soap and the balm is excellent.

Heno de Pravia Glycerine Soap
Proraso Green Tea and Oat Preshave Cream
Stirling Black Cherry Soap
Semogue SOC Taj in Badger/Boar.
Razorine in Brass with a Wilkinson/Gillette Blade.
Alum and Rinse
Witch Hazel
Aloe Vera Gel
Pitralon Classic AS

My first time using the Razorine and it shaves very well. Felt a little bit like a squeegee. It didn't feel as if much was happening.....but when I finished.....there was no stubble!

It's early days ....so my only comment to date is that a little 'kamisori' customisation might be in order to improve the grip on the handle.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Cream: Alvarez Gomez Barbaria
Razor: Pils
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword Light Brigade (8)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free Moisturizing Aftershave Lotion
Scent: Alvarez Gomez Barbaria EdC

I'm starting to get the muscle-memory locked in with the Pils. The shaves so far have always been comfortable, but they are now getting faster and closer. Beautiful fragrant lather from the Alvarez Gomez croap - it is a pleasure to shave with.
Three passes and some clean-up buffs for a BBS.

Repeat of yesterday's shave, except I switched the brush to the Bruce synthetic. Wonderful lather, wonderful shave. Two passes ...happy me.

SOTD Wednesdsay 19 September 2018

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap followed by warm water splash.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: Colonial the General (SS)
Blade: Schick P-30 Proline (Day 2?)
Post: Myrsol Balsamic Water, followed by The Edinburgh Natural Skincare Company - Hunter's Aftershave Balm.

I have not SE shaved for a number of weeks - possibly up to 6; my Colonial SS was loaded so I decided to take her?/it? out for a spin. A very good shave 3 passes and DFS + BBS- finish.

When in Edinburgh for the festival, on walking up Coburn Street, I noticed a new natural beauty shop. It stocked an aftershave balm which is based on Bees wax, which learned from a recent holiday in Croatia is very good for the skin. Anyway, purchase made this a very pleasing balm in terms of after skin feel and scent. It is also made up of Shea butter, Lavender, Geranium, Sweet Orange, Lime, Frankincense, Myrrh and Clove essential oils.

All the best,

Chris
