What Watch Are You Wearing Today?

Thought I'd post my watch.
Nice watches posted here unlike mine.

12 years ago I paid £45 for this solar powered auto setting watch.
Never comes off unless I dress up to go out and I have to guess the time. This watch has been in hot baths many times and UK sea. Swimming pools many times.

Not really what you lot want to see but just for fun. Guess they ain't called terrorist watches for nothing.
I've had a couple of good watches over the years but Ive killed them so given up. Would like something nice to wear so maybe when I retire. Enjoyed looking through pictures though.

I love how Casios give years of faithful service. Form and function. I cannot get enough of them!

My Casio 'pocket watch!' When the resin strap split I cut it off making it perfect for rock climbing, when anything actually on the wrist would get smashed up.

G-Shocks are the advertised heavy hitters, but the ordinary Casio digital punch well above their price point !!

(y)CR2016 big button battery is available in any supermarket and will last 5 to 10 years in the F-W and A-W series.

(y)The pusher buttons and waterproof seals will, in reality, take forever to fail.

(y)When the display gets so scratched you cant read it anymore, 5 minutes with some metal polish on a rag will bring it up like new again.

You just have to love them. ....:love::love:

Nice looking watch Zorro, so nice that I looked into buying one

I understand that collectors are buying Braun products, leaving them boxed and unused with an eye to future investment returns, just on the strength of their perfect design.

I hear what you're saying, but when you're jamming your limbs into deep cracks, such as at Fairhead, it's simply not worth wearing a watch!

I can believe it. They look timeless and beautifully simple. Dieter Rams designs across the Braun product range, not just the watches, are legendary

There are many vintage Chronos i like for the looks, like the Heuer Autavia's, but i don't have the wallet or the patience to acquire and maintain vintage mechanical Chronos !!

I have long been tempted towards the Sinn 103 and that is a modern mechanical that's more reasonably priced.

If i ever win that lottery, i would acquire, amongst others, a Zenith Captain Chrono as i think the simplistic retro look is just fabulous.

The perfect minimalist watch IMO:

A great watch, my first one (34mm version ?) lasted 10 yrs and I replaced it with the same model. That said, I now prefer the humble Casio MQ-24-7 series, the biggest selling watch in Japan just outselling their other masterpiece, the F-91W, IIRC. The MQ-24-7 series is more accurate than the Swatch, is feather light and a 1/4 of the price at GBP £10 in the UK, oh and the battery lasts eons. I wear it over and above my automatic jewellery pieces.
