Thursday morning

Tabac Original
Yaqi Red Marble Tuxedo 24mm synth
Face lather
Gillette New 1930s (ex ‘Jewellery Set')
Astra SP #2
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Tabac Original after shave

The maiden voyage (for me, that is) of my newly acquired Gillette New. Paired with the Astra, it gave an excellent shave. Another keeper in the expanding vintage lot.

Brush - Yaqi 2 Band Badger
Soap - Palmolive Stick
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Astra SP
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum Mentholated

Today's shave was a landmark shave of sorts, the first time I have ever used a badger brush and sadly the experience was not a good one. I have a very poor record with soaps, it seems the majority seem to make my face burn but I'd never had a problem with a brush until today. Over the last few years I've encountered enough shaves where it was clear something was causing irritation and generally it was the soap but for today's shave there was little chance of that as all the other variables are ones I am very familiar with.

The experience of using a badger brush was quite an interesting one, of course there's no way to evaluate the experience after just one shave but the face feel of such a brush is quite a bit different to a boar or a synth.

Another successful shave today, very efficient and comfortable.
Another face lather and 3 passes for a very nice face feeler.
Some slight indication from the alum block although i think that was down to a couple of lackadaisical strokes on my parts.
A nice post shave routine leaving me BBS, Comfortable and smelling pretty good too.
Have a great Day All

Great lavender shave today. Day 5 of Decadent December featured my Gillette New LC which delivered a very comfortable noggin and face BBS. I really like the Grooming Dept Scentless Donkey Milk soap salted with 5-6 drops of M-Bomb I've used for the last two shaves. It provides a slick, thick, nourishing lather that was a pleasure to wash and rinse with after the shave. I feel smooth and refreshed!
