Just wondering which blade you used for the best and worst in the Parker Variant? I've been getting up to speed with mine and it worked well with Voskhods but it doesn't seem to get on with Gillette 7 o'clock yellows for me.

Also just to say that the Imperial Rum was a great choice! The only one I've tried from the P&B range but it always leaves me feeling happy.

Edit: to correct a typo
Hi Daniel,
Sorry for the tardy response, I haven't been on the forum for a week. I find Feather Hi-stainless blades work for me with most razors. The Variant and the Merkur Progress both work well with this blade, but it is not a blade choice for everyone. The worst blade on this case, however, was a below par Feather, rough straight out of the wrapper. The best was a fresh Gillette Silver Blue, also a favoured blade especially in the MÜHLE Rocca.

I have several P&B soaps they are all good but Imperial Rum does have the best scent, for me.

All the best.

Thanks for the reply. I'm yet to try Gillette Silver Blues, I might pick up a few wraps to try them out.

Some very good blades here. Get your name down for the PIF:

Well I am of The North...so why not some CBL Iron Throne to start the day! I can't get over this scent and the soap performs beautifully. I don't have the scent notes for it but there are juniper berries in It with some smoke and subtle leather. You have to use your own nose for this one. It has a couple of cooling agents in there and they are just enough to throw a chill without any heavy menthol.

Continuing on with the trio today we have the 1956 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed. Middle of the road between Blue and Red but a very fine shaver and the standard by which many a Super Speed was made. Loaded up with a Gillette Rubie.

Beautiful three pass BBS shave which was capped off with an icy blast of Duke Cannon Supply Co. Ice Cold Balm. A little Bvlgari Man to finish off and we are ready for Friday and the long weekend. August approaches....and of course Winter is Coming....
