SE blades for Every Ready Razor

So I managed to pick up and ever ready razor from a car boot sale. Looks to be in good nick and has an unopened pack of ever ready blades with it.

1) Should I use these ever ready blades?
2) Has anyone had experience of ever ready razors, and do you still shave with one? Any usefull tips. I read on one site that they are aggressive and you should not go at it like you are using a de!
3) What is the best blade for an ever ready?
4) Where can you get the blades from. I have looked a connaughtshaving and they have stainless steel gems that I might give a try depending on feed back here.

Many thanks

Rob

Rob,

I haven't used an Ever Ready but am using Gem G Bar at the minute (thanks Ollie). The Stainless Steel Gems (also referred to as 'Ted Pella's') seem to be the benchmark for these. I've used them and find them to be a decent blade.

Yes get the Ted Pellas ones.I can get at least 8 or 9 shaves with one(handstropped after its 4th use). They work great in every GEM or Ever Ready that I own.You know that the first time that you shave with a SE razor you have to be careful with the pressure that you apply and also the right angle. The Ever Ready has to be almost flat against your face and with LIGHT pressure.Hope you enjoy your SEs razors.I do mine but I should be a better GEMOCRAT since I havent used mine in about 2 weeks now.
