Photo of the day

True. I like my X10 but the best camera is the one you have with you when you see something. Which was the idea of the X10 over DSLR but yeah, the ubiquitous phone...
It is often not the camera that captures a good photograph it is the eye of the photographer who sees a shot before the camera is raised to the eye.

Paul.

I agree, all the Hasselblads in the world won't make a good photo if the bloke holding it doesn't have the eye. You can get a great pic with a phone if you have an eye for it. Someone who has the eye, the craft and the gear can take it to the next level and make perfect images, but a good capture on a cheap phone is 90% of the way there.

Even nicer to have a willing and photogenic partner mate!

Looking from the top of the Rum Cuillen across to Skye. Not taken by me - because that's me.

My pack for the trip - we had to carry seven days of food each - we circumnavigated the island - there are no resupply points. Shit it was heavy at the start. Maps - mug and badger - all the essentials. :)

I'm getting in the same boat and share your opinion of the "democratic" Mr Khan and his underhand schemes. Now looking at possibly having to flog my trusty old motor to buy a similar one with 5 fewer years on. Just what we need when there's a cost of living crisis. Not that the politicians will notice their electricity and food bills much, they're too busy claiming mortgage relief on homes they don't own.

I watched the inquiry into the ULEZ where they grill him on all the lies, secret payments, vote rigging and other stuff he's been proven guilty of in regards to this. While it was very entertaining watching the lying weasel squirm in the light, I notice that despite what appears to be overwhelming evidence of undemocratic behaviour, the square root of f* all has been done. Except some boroughs have been quoted as saying they will block any attempts to install the cameras within their area. How is he still 'mayor' and how can he instigate something outside his area anyway? I think they're letting him get away with it, the investigation is for show, and they'll divvy up the £millions it will 'generate'. But we're veering off topic here...
