Occams Razor

I have both the original flatted cap and the revamped rounded aluminium Hawks, and they both shave well. Making the later Hawk's top cap
rounded, rather than flat planes, was, to my mind, a great improvement, and I think that's the only version now offered.

Other than using AC blades, I personally don't think there are too many points of comparison between the Hawk (and other similar AC razors) and the Occam's.

Another point with the Hawk is that it's very well-priced, thus making it a "reasonable gamble" purchase, rather than a "blue-chip speculation". If
it doesn't suit, it hasn't cost the buyer his shirt.
I have never tried any razor t bar style with ac blades.

Im on the fence about whether to get it or not.

I've tried almost all of the SE razors on the market and finally settled on the Hawk. It's really effective without being radically aggressive and you can vary it's 'bite' by blade selection. I'll even say that if you buy a green or blue one and don't like it I'll buy it from you for 90% of its normal retail price (if you're in Europe).

I fancy a colourful one as a spare!

Interested to know if you bought one, FWIW I just shaved with my new Hawk V2 (with Schick P30) tonight, I was very impressed; far more efficient than my EJ DE87, no pressure required. I reckon this will be my daily shaver for a while to come.

I agree that the Hawk is a good razor. I have the Hulk Hawk (green version) had to go for the $5 discount. I was quite happy with it until my Vector arrived. I've been using the Vector regularly for both head and face shaves. It's a wonderful razor.

Enjoy your shaves,

Jeff

Not tried changing the plate in my Nano. To be honest at the moment I don't think I will. Plate two and a Pro Guard work so well for me I can't see the point in changing anything.

The Hulk is a nice razor, I tried that with a Guard and it was ok. A P-30 was recommended and it's a great blade for that razor for sure.

Don't know if you're aware, but Classic Shaving has a sale on the Occam's Nano! They're going for $65. That doesn't help me! I own a Nano, but it's nota good fit for me. I was looking to sell until the sale. They're clearing out inventory to make room for the new Enoch razor.

Enjoy your shaves,

Jeff

Yes I did see that. Great offer, but if you want that cheaper shipping rate you need to order something else. I did, pleased I did as the Classic Shaving soap is very good.

I think you may find that it is the original Occams up for Sale, and not the Nano updated version.
