Gillette Minora Stainless

There are two different modern versions of the Gillette Super Thin (as well as many older and discontinued lines) as made in Shanghai, the so called Thai market one and the Vietnam market Platinum one. There is a difference. Google is your friend.

Minora Update: I have shaved two other times with this blade utilizing a RR Game Changer .68 & an English flat bottom" Tech with Fine shaving soap as well as A&E Kaizen. (y)
Thanks for the update.
How do you find your Flat Bottom Tech? Maybe it's confirmation bias but I find it's a little more efficient than my Fat Handle Tech. With my Ball End Tech, they are my 'holy trinity' of DE razors.

I like it, but it shaves differently than other Techs. The leading edge on the guard bars is more pronounced. I like the "ball end" better. Just my 2 cents.

Has anyone received their Minoras from that UK seller yet? Mine were dispatch last Monday but there's still no sign of them.
Same here. Said he'd send them again "plus a gift". He does have 100% ratings, and I don't often buy anything from eBay sellers with less. Plus they are still listed on his offerings, which presumes that he hasn't run out of them; but who knows these days?

I think Royal Mail is pretty chaotic in places. I ordered some horticultural stuff from Wales, the larger bits sent by courier and arrived a couple of days later, but other packets of seeds sent by RM last Monday still not arrived. Other important mail likewise, including my income tax bill.

I'm going to give it until Friday before querying. I've heard RM is struggling although I've personally experienced nothing but the usual excellent service from them.

Likewise, I looked at the feedback before ordering. Seems to be a large legitimate seller so I can't foresee any problems with them.

I asked him if he would confirm the day it was posted, and that was his response, which seems bona fide.

RM are usually pretty good, as are several, but not all, of the carriers. However, with the current situation, the need for self-isolating must be driving a coach and horses through the workforces, and I think that, rather than them "gearing-up", the prolonged strain on all resources is producing a form of "combat fatigue".

My downfall is that I've been so keen to try these out, that my daily shaving routine has been postponed from about 7.30 a.m. to somewhere north of noon (except Sunday), in hopes that the postman will come up with the goods. It's giving me a form of shaver's jet-lag, and I feel like Bluto by lunchtime.

I'm doing a similar thing whilst I wait for the new Yaqi single edge razor.

I have a beard now.

Man, you SOB's are truly obsessed!! ;)

On another note, I am getting ready to send over a blade "care" pckg, for some here and this worries me as some of the blades are unobtainium/discontinued and I'd hate to have have the pckg. get lost in the Twilight Zone. I can just see Boycie down at the RM hub...

You're a scholar and a Gent! Generally RM are very good so I wouldn't worry. A lot of parcels come to Boycie's house and these Minora Blades are the first I've had a problem with this year.

I got this in a mail out from Shaving Time, seems a sign RM are having problems with a backlog of mail to distribute.

ROYAL MAIL & EU PARTNER DELAYS

Due to circumstances completely outwith my control, I have to report that there are currently long delays with deliveries along the UK ROYAL MAIL network and within Europe using The Royal Mail delivery partners.

In the UK the 24 HR service is taking up to a week for delivery in certain areas, the 48 hour service is taking up to a fortnight in certain areas and up to a month in some European countries, Greece is a proven example.

Royal Mail have reported that they will be bringing in Agency Staff to help with the Black Friday and Christmas rush, drivers and postal workers that I have spoken to have commented that they have never seen it so busy. Where I can I am available to assist but as this is completely out of my control, there is little I can do to improve on this current delivery situation.

I will be unable to issue refunds or re-deliveries until the Royal Mail 30 days time bar for making compensation claims is available to me. In the meantime I am in the process of arranging a DHL UK and EU shipping alternative that will solve such issues with guaranteed delivery the next day in the UK and in Europe. However this will cost more than the current Royal Mail shipping fees and once introduced I will be removing the Free Shipping options from Shaving Time. In the meantime I suggest that you take the tracked option on all shipping until the situation improves.

As a postie I can confirm that RM are absolutely snowed under. Have been since the pandemic hit. Before the Christmas pressure period started they were 30-40% up on packet and parcels volumes compared to the previous year and now they have all the usual seasonal increase in traffic to cope with. Also, they can't get the staff in to actually deliver the stuff, social distancing means vans can't be shared and some offices simply can't provide enough space indoors for staff to be far enough apart so some duties only go out every other day. Add to that the amount of staff off because of isolation reasons and sickness, both COVID and the usual stuff. I think agency staff being brought in is just a sticking plaster tbh, I'm not sure they can actually utilise the amount of staff that they need to bring in.

Personally, I've been off since early November with COVID and its after effects, and unless I make a dramatic improvement over the next week or so I can't see me being fit enough to go in when my current doctors note runs out. Extended sickness absence isn't unusual with this thing.

I spoke to my postie yesterday and he told me that in our office, one that, until this fucking virus hit, used to regularly exceed delivery targets, has a massive backlog of everything apart from Special Delivery items. I'm sure this situation is being repeated all over the country.
