Copycat Fragrance review thread

Hey guys (new here) just wanted to say thanks for this thread. Been looking at copycat for a while but this thread pushed me to buy. Ordered a bit of a mix based on recommendations here. Will let you know how I get on!!
(Got a coco Chanel for the very picky wife who hasn't been impressed with other copies.....)

Let us know how you get on, copycat is not bad but I also think that the results are different from person to person depending on skin type. Even the expensive one's sometimes gives you different results with different people. First time trying clones as I've always bought originals.

I got a bottle of the Oud Intense based on this thread.

As I have shopaholic daughters who like going in the posh shops they have a standing instruction to pick up as many ADP sample bottles as they can get their hands on. As such I do have some of the ADP Colonia Oud to compare it against.

Honestly, it's pretty much identical. Maybe a very slight difference right at the beginning as the alcohol evaporates, but after that I couldn't tell which wrist had ADP and which was the Copycat.

I can now give myself big luxurious sprays of the stuff, an indulgence normally reserved for the fragrance section of John Lewis, rather than ekeing out a 1.5ml sample for a special night out.

Great stuff, highly recommended.

Executive (Creed Aventus) - This is the star of the show. I've tried most Aventus copies and this blows them all out of the water! It is big, complex and almost writhes with the sense of scent development. My memory of real Aventus is quite far in the past but this clone is up there, and, if I remember correctly, the clone has greater longevity. Every note in the claimed Aventus palette emerges and takes its turn.

Final conclusion - I love them all. They are classy, have no faintest sense of 'cheap', and stand as great scents in their own right as well as really good duplicates. I have already placed an order for one of the 'Copycat' scents and, so confident have I become in their creators abilities, I ordered one I haven't sampled - VIW (Creed Virgin Island Water).

Wholehearted recommendation!

Got a 5ml sample of Executive today, smells ace. Scent still present 4hrs after spraying. I want Sauvage now.

I received my 50ml bottle of Oud Intense - and Wow!!! I've never smelled the original so have no marker to compare it with. Firstly, the packaging was excellent. Plenty of bubbly wrap, in a nice black velvety bag and simple bottle with simple branding. I'd rather the investment go into the product than into the packaging and branding.
My impressions are it's old school-manly, sophisticated and warm - like nothing I've tried before really. heeding caution from previous posts I used 1 squirt on my wrist and 1 on my chest and the awesome, sensual acent lasted 9-10 hours before I showered. I'm a complete convert to these Copycat fragrances now and it's gonna be Executive next for me! I concur with the above and also wholeheartedly recommend. (y)

A quick update on cc fragrances and it started with fabulous which was great and can smell it for hours. So placed an order for executive and the man sample set so I can test some other scents. After trying executive for 2 weeks I can't rate it the same as fabulous. After 2-3 hrs I can't smell it anymore like I can smell fabulous. This could be me but when ordered fabulous because of the longevity I had I thought I need to try the creed aventus version and while its a good scent I can't smell it after 2-3 hours. Another thing to mention is that I left 2 reviews of the site, one for fabulous and one for executive. The review which I was happy about has gone live and its for fabulous but the review of the executive which I was not as happy about has not gone live on the website. Will see how I get on with samples.

Anosmia. Very common with Aventus, try getting someone to sniff you... It's likely you still smell of it but have become "nose blind" to it yourself due to olfactory fatigue.

Your probably right

Will get the wife to have a sniff later on the day :)
I find the same. I have the Executive clone but have tried other Aventus inspired scents before and I often find I can no longer smell it on myself until I'm outside and a gust of wind gives a waft of it, or you climb back into the car youd been in and can smell it strongly.

Tried Oud Wood from the testers that I bought and has become my favourite with fabulous very close behind. Maybe its me but executive is my less favourite at the moment. It could be me but I find these two slightly better. Will try some other testers next week.

I've tried 2 of their fragrances.

Executive is clearly the jewel in their crown. No niche fragrance in history has drawn the attention that Aventus has. Aventus has also allowed Creed to drive their prices up to insane levels. The first time I bought a Creed fragrance you could get 120ml for the same price as they charge for 50ml these days. In short and to my nose, Executive is as close to Aventus as you're going to get. It is really really good and clearly the attention they have paid to this has worked. If you want to smell like Aventus but can't justify the price tag then get this.

I also tried MI which is their copy of Creed's Millesime Imperiale which is one of my all time favourite fragrances. This one let me down. Sure it kind of smells like MI but it has nowhere near the depth of fragrance and it is also very harsh and generic once you get past the top notes.

I love Creed fragrances but in recent years I simply cannot justify the price when there are other outstanding fragrances out there at a fraction of their price.

Ordered a 100ml bottle of Bleu. Wow, I love it! To me, smells exactly like the original, similarly complex on the initial spray, then a warm, gentle woodsy, sophisticated dry down and (on me) lasts bloody hours! Sorry I'm not great at describing the actual smells and scents I pick up, but I usually know within first few minutes if I'm gonna like it - and I love this. Think Executive is just, only just, the best of my Copycat purchases - but it's close. Again, did one spray on my neck and one on my wrist and easily had 5-6 hours out of it. My wife noticed it immediately - which is usually a backhanded compliment! Copycat have done it again with this one. I've made 3 purchases and love all 3, so I'm a very happy bunny. Keep up the excellent work Copycat.(y)

Has anyone tried any of the new CopyCat scents? I ordered 5ml of their interpretations of Spicebomb, Dior Sauvage, Tobacco Vanille, Bleu, Aventus and Tuscan Leather.

I can't say how similar TV and TL are because I haven't tried the real deal however both are absolutely gorgeous, long lasting scents. How close they are to the originals, I don't know.

Spicebomb is almost identical to the original, great performance, projects like the real deal and lasted on my skin for a solid 10 hours. Bleu is also a pretty solid clone but I wasn't immensely impressed with the Sauvage interpretation - it doesn't smell all that similar to my nose, though not a bad scent in its own right. All of the ones I've tried do have excellent longevity.

They've added 9 new fragrances to their line up so I'd be keen to hear if anyone else has tried them.

Actually, I'm currently wearing Dior Sauvage on my left wrist and CopyCats clone of it on my right. They are in fact almost identical. The opening of the clone is a little harsher and a tad fresher than Sauvage. I do think Sauvage is a slightly more well rounded scent than the copy however if someone was to walk past you with CopyCats version, the average nose would absolutely not be able to tell the difference. The longevity is fantastic too - this is a really incredible copy.
