Best pre-shave

I reckon if you need a pre shave product, you are using sub performing soap. I use SV soap mainly and there is no drag or resistance to my razor.
Do you have a very course beard.
The differences between one and each other can be the difference between a blade lasting 2 shaves or 5 shaves, I have a coarse beard and prefer to try anything to soften it enough for a good shave.

I use red proraso pre and same soap, I now go a wee bit ott when I have a brush full of lather, I drop 2 or 3 drops of glycerine on top and stir it a little with my finger then apply... Works well for me.

Normally I use Bluebeard's Revenge pre-shave oil. I do however also have the Truefitt pre-shave, which I got as a pressie. This will be saved for special occasions. Have also tried the Proraso Green pre-shave too. This was my first ever pre-shave and not bad too.

I picked up the proraso green tin with pre shave, cream and balm so tried it for the first time last week. Not sure if the pre shave helps or not but it definitely smells good and the scent is quite bracing.

What are peoples opinions on what is the best pre-shave?

I use proraso pre-shave cream and really enjoy it. But if there is something that is far better out there I would love to hear peoples opinions. I used to use pre-shave oils a lot but they're too messy and I find they clog the razor.
If you like the Prorasso Green, you love this one, and it does not leave your razor covered in a white layer like the Prorasso.61axTDWQCIL._SX522_.jpg

I've tried numerous pre-shaves, lotions, potions and oils (including Proraso and Noxzema), but none works any better than a hot pre-shave shower followed by liberal splashes of warm water on my face just prior to lathering, which I do only on my face.

Just face lather. That's it.

I've really only used 2 types - Nuage Men Shave Oil and Proraso's pre-shave creams. Both seem to work well for me. I've just started placing a hot flannel over my face once I've applied the pre-shave. I'm not sure it actually does anything but I enjoy it and it makes me feel better....especially when the menthol kicks in! [emoji1303]

I like the Proraso pre-shave creams and also the Floïd oil. I've just bought the Clubman Pinaud oil to try.

I've also been really impressed with the Wilko oil and it's very cheap:
