Best cartridge razor head?

I have an Edwin Jagger razor handle which I usually use Mach 3 heads with - can anyone suggest an alternative (better?) head?

Here's handle:

I think the Mach3 is about as good as it gets for cartridge razors.

You can get very nice aftermarket handles for the Sensor/Sensor Excel from likes of Pils but the blade quality* is not as good in my experience. I can get a reasonably good shave out of a Sensor but it's not a pleasant experience - I find it harsher and less efficient at removing stubble.

The Contour is a pretty good razor and you can find aftermarket handles easily enough on eBay & Etsy. It was branded as the Atra in the US so a search for that should turn up plenty of options.

The Feather cartridges like the FII Neo are extremely sharp and smooth, cheaper than the Gilette carts but have a terrible tendency to get clogged. If you have heavy growth or like to wait more than a day or so between shaves I wouldn't even bother. The handle they come with looks like something from the Starship Enterprise but they do fit on the Gilette Contour/Atra handle.

*Among other things. I compared a M3 vs Sensor cartridges recently and as far as I can tell, the Sensor has the blades set at a more aggressive angle.

So Mach 3 Turbo etc aren't worth looking at?

I don't really want to shell out for a new handle at this stage, just looking for different cartridges.

Personally I don't like Mach3 that much as I find that they are too mild and they clog up way too fast when using non-can soap. I quite like two-blade carts like the Atras but that does unfortunately not really help you as your current handle is for Mach 3s and since the patent, I believe, is still active you probably won't see any real options out there for quite some time.

Consider picking up a handle on eBay for a few dollars/pounds - in the long run it might be worth it if it works better for you

I have the same handle - my first shaving purchase not at Target. Nice shaves & efficient handle. I understand the handle only accepts Mach3 and Mach3 Turbo.

I purchased a pack of Mach3 cartridges at Amazon - either counterfeit or made the morning after the office party. I then purchased a Feather MR3 and a Edwin Jagger DE87. My DE shaving adventure started and I made the mistake of reading shaving forums. I do have nice EJ and Feather handles if any interest.
