Love the Super Speeds! Today is a true favourite in the 1956 Red Tip SS. This completes the SS trio and what a way to do it. Some state that this razor is aggressive however, I find it quite efficient and just about perfect for my beard and face. I really enjoyed the Dorco Platinum so I decided to throw it in the Red Tip for today's go.

Today's soap choice fell to Stirling Tuscany with the matching AS. Performance is all Stirling so excellent to say the least. Scent is quite nice and light to medium strength off the tub. The Simpson 59 made quick work of creating a lather indeed. Lovely stuff.

Two pass shave was all that was required to hit DFS levels and topped everything off with the matching AS and a shot of English Laundry Windsor EDP with the matching deodorant. Almost Supermodel quality! Happy shaves all!

B. - where did you get this soap? I've seen it used a couple of times on recent sotd posts and meant to ask - a Wickham soap that smells of Sauvage? A no-brainer surely? Is it any good? - cheers - I.

Iain, it was part of a group buy over on the ATG forum.

Hope you don't mind me answering, Barry :p

As Pat said Iain. I did mention it to you in a PM, but it was just before you swanned off to Spain. This won't help, but it's very good.

Tuesday evening

Phoenix and Beau Denali (sample)
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Parker 24c
Gillette Silver Blue
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Floïd Mentally Vigorous

A warm night in Edinburgh; so something cooling was required. The soap and the MV conspired to provide much face freeze, after the GSB and efficient Parker laughed in the face (as it were) of stubble.

Vector,400, Irish Fern.jpg

Pre shave Prep: Pears Original Transparent
Brush: Razorock 400
Soap: 1912 Irish Fern
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Feather PB (4)
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel
Balm: Floid AS Balm
A/S: Floid Mentolado Vigaroso

Sublime!
After last nights experiment tonight was off the scale sublime. Although last night was a bit too efficient for me it was a really close shave, i was balming my face all night. It was OK tonight though. I may subconsciously be doing these silly things so that when i do use a higher end razor i really appreciate it, either that or i am daft?
I used the RR400 for a face lather and after 15-20 seconds in the bloomed soap she was carrying enough for 3 passes easily, again that slightly earthy Fern smell filling the shave area and covering the Pears Pre Prep.
A fantastic and comfortable 2 pass shave WTG and a Multi pass, no more required, i really enjoyed that. Nothing really from alum block.
A dollop and splash to feel comfortable and fresh, the Floid is really growing on me as a daily post shave, Keeping my expensive AS for Weekends etc.
Thank you, Miss Vector for a wonderful shave.
Have a great night all.

KOS Shave Oil
Palmolive Classic Shave Stick
Clubman Pinaud Synthetic Brush

Decent result from Razorine but still picking up a few weepers. Technique still needs perfecting with this one I think.

I'm finding a hot flannel (face cloth) on my face is making a difference to my shave. It's a relaxing feeling with the pre-shave cream applied and a hot flannel over the top. I'm even using it between passes and during my post clean up when I'm doing a face wash with the left over lather. Great!

However, tonight I was lazy and picked up the Genesis. I managed a 2nd shave with the FHS blade and there were no signs it was dulling.

I also used the TOBS rose shaving cream which I've had for a while but never used. It gave a great lather but the slickness seemed to disappear immediately after each stroke with the razor.

But regardless, this was a great shave. That feeling when your face lights up when you splash on the Epsilon is one of the best! It dies within seconds but that tingling feeling lasts for a good 10 minutes.

Fresh, smooth and feeling divine. The samples of the test scents arrived today too! The Oud Intense is top of the tree, but I'm not wasting them by wearing them in the house.

A report on the scents will be appearing shortly but by Christ they're good.

Have a great evening folks. [emoji1303]
