SOTD Saturday 05th Sept to Friday 11th Sept 2020

Hi Grey.
Yes, this here: https://res.sastasundar.com/incom/images/product/Old-Spice-Original-1452691988-10009668.jpg
I really like the performance and the scent. :)
Cool...ya' know, I didn't realise there was still an OS shave cream available! I'll definitely have to add that to my shopping list. I wish they still did a hard soap in a mug!(y)

UPDATE: Just ordered online...3x70ml tubes for £13 delivered. Mixed reviews but I have wanted an Old Spice shave cream for so long I thought it worth the chance it might actually be OK and smell close enough to the real thing. If not, hopefully it still provides a good shave. If not...well I can pif it to...who? If it's shite, there's no one on TSR who would deserve such a fate!

SOTD TUESDAY 8th September
Pre-shave:- Face wash in very cold water
Bowl/Scuttle:- wooden bowl
Brush:- Yaqi 24mm heavy metal silvertip badger
Soap/Cream:- Proraso Red cream
Razor/Blade:- Yaqi open comb/ Polsilver Super Iridium #1
Post/After-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel lavender / Proraso Red AS / Nivea Aftershave Balm

So I tried the Yaqi open comb today for the first time. used Proraso red cream and just an ice cold water pre shave. Razor loaded with a brand new Polsilver Super Iridium blade. One wtg and two xtg passes. I experienced the closest, smoothest shave I've had since God knows when. I have the Yaqi D.O.C. razor but this normal open comb head blows it out of the water in terms of efficiency and smoothness. It is in no way aggressive, though the blade exposure makes it look that way.Its just very efficient.08-09 1.jpeg08-09 2.jpeg08-09 5.jpeg

Monday 7th September

Brush Simpson Trafalgar T3
Soap Squadron Red Lead
Razor RazoRock Game Changer .84-P
Blade Gillette Nacet (3)
Post Old Spice Original ASL

I keep the Squadron Red Lead soap hidden away to save me from using it all up
It was a very generous gift from @TomG , sent all the way from Australia.
It is one of my favourite soaps - always performs well with whichever brush I use.
The Trafalgar T3 whipped it up in no time, with much more lather than required.
This will be the end of my run with the Game Changer - around 15 shaves on the bounce.
Glad to hear that you are still enjoying it, Paul.

Wed 9 SOTD
Cream Suezbana Aloe & Lavender
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice 2 Band Badger
Razor Parker Semi Slant
Blade Sharp JAWS Platinum 4th
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Bootleg BayRum
Face lathering with the nice brush produces a good slick and pleasant scent lather. Really good scent.
Shave with razor paired with blade was uneventful...3 multiple passes went without issues. It was smooth, sharpish and comfortable. Between bbs to dfs result. Great post shave...leaving the shave areas cool then soothed by Hyaluronic and lastly the Bootleg BayRum. Rating 9.7/10

9/9/20

Razor - Gillette Old Type
Blade - Astra SP (1)
Brush - Zenith Euro X
Soap - Palmolive Stick
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Balm
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

I've been wet shaving for a few years now and I've really enjoying the journey of discovering which razors and blades suit my face the most. The Old Type was a razor I struggled to get good results with when I first used it but now I am better am to use the razor at the right angle (it has quite a narrow window) and with a new Astra SP it was delightfully smooth and efficient, I enjoyed today's shave vastly over yesterday's shave with the Yaqi DOC and Voskhod.

Have a good day chaps.

Shower
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow
Soap: Signature Soap Valentia
Razor: Gold Dollar "Classic Quality"
Blade: @Fergibilly (received in a trade)
Post shave: Alum, Cold water Rinse, TC's Bay Rum Splash #1
Balm: Proraso Red
Aftershave: Proraso Red
Wk 36 (7).JPG
I picked up this razor as part of a trade, it has an edge reportedly put on by @Fergiebilly, it is a very smooth shaver.
Another great lather, this time i used a nut sized piece of the @BrianH Sig Soap and whipped it up in the bowl, easily enough for 3 passes.
I completed my 2 pass routine without any issue, i even managed to do some ATG strokes under my bottom lip-line to clear that area.
Some very light indication here and there from the Alum block finishing with a nice post shave with the Proraso Red.
Result DFS++, i am definitely getting there.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
