Lime/Citrus Creams Shave-off

I've decided to make this thread as I fancy comparing some creams. Hopefully this may become a useful thread if others add to it. If not, it's just another corner of the internet with Boycie's ramblings.

I'll be comparing TOBS new Lime Zest to Geo F Trumpers Lime and Executive Shaving's Citrus Kiss.

As usual, you won't learn anything from me but it will keep me out of trouble.

The razor will be a special set up: Fine Marvel DE head loaded with two Personna injector blades on an Alpha Outlaw handle. I've never tried this before. I know it's daft introducing another variable but you know how I operate by now.

Razor: Fine Marvel
Blade: Personna PTFE Injector Blades x2 (1)
Brush: Semogue 730HD Silvertip
Soap: TOBS Lime Zest
Pre: Azur Lime
ASL: Signature Soaps Hibernia
ASB: Neutrogena

A perfectly acceptable finish from 2 passes taking down 48 hours of growth but that was not a comfortable shave. The Marvel/injector combo isn't for me. The only saving grace was the TOBS which provided me with enough slickness to get through the shave. The scent is really nice. For those of you familiar with Wickhams Club Cola soap, this smells like the lime version of that. A good summer smell.

I'm going to give this cream another go with a different razor.

Razor: Schick Type L
Blade: NOS Schick (1)
Brush: Semogue 730HD Silvertip
Soap: Trumpers Lime
Pre: Azur Lime
ASL: Signature Soaps Hibernia
ASB: Creightons

What a fantastic shave! First time using the Type L and it performed flawlessly. 3 passes and I'm BBS.

I forgot what a good cream Trumpers Lime is. Enough good lather for 5 passes with no drop in quality across the 3 applications. Trumpers creams are still one of the benchmark creams in my opinion. I'd happily recommend this cream to anyone. The scent is lime. Just lime - it works. Pairs very well with the Signature Soaps Hibernia. Can you tell by my waxing lyrical that I enjoyed this?

I'm going to wait until I've used the TOBS Lime Zest again before I do a comparison.

@Boycie83 youll need to add TOBS Grapefruit cream to your experiment. It's the best citrus cream out there...I should know...ive tried...well...just that one  ...but its probably my favourite soap outside of Denali.
I can do that - there's some in the ottoman (which is the new drawer of shame that holds all the overflow from the den). I'm terrible for getting distracted halfway through my threads hence why I limited it to three.

Have a shave with it and post your thoughts here. It'll be helpful for others.

My poor attempt at reviews wouldn't do it justice but next time I use it I'll throw some thoughts in here:)

I really like the smell of this TOBS Lime Zest. I stick by my original description of it being a lime version of Wickham's 1912 Club Cola. It provided plenty of slick lather with the usual TOBS ease. It's absolutely fine performance wise but I'd rate the Trumpers Lime as a better cream. They're two different takes on lime scent wise so it's hard to choose between them in this regard.

I'm still really enjoying the Schick injector. Provides a really comfortable shave.
