Entirely up to you - there is no right or wrong - if you enjoy drinking it - then that is fine - whatever you like - personally - with a decent malt - I would mix it half and half with water, some might add a couple of ice cubes - I wouldn't personally - good whisky - in my opinion - needs to be enjoyed at room temperature - but the ice will melt - see how you find it - a splash more water if that suits you better - particularly, if it is cask strength - above 40% proof - you really need the water to open it out - otherwise it will not smell or taste to its full potential - and there might be better ways to damage your liver - but not many - with cooking whisky - for a long drink - ice, soda water, ginger ale, diet coke - knock yourself out - enjoy - there you go - genuine advice from a Scotsman - slà inte - I.What is the correct way to drink whisky/whiskey? I have never found the right way apart from adding it to my hot milk lol. With water, soda water, ice...
