Extro Cosmesi Soap Review Thread

It's been a little quiet here lately so I think the place needs some more of my inane ramblings.

Extro reviews are generally pretty hard to come across so I thought I'd start a thread that can provide a single point of reference for them. Happy for others to chip in with their experience as well.

I have a reasonable number of candidates to test:

Starting Monday, I will use each of these and report back here.

There's an added Boycie bonus though! I will also take you all on my journey with my new Blackbird (thank you @Satanfriendly ) which I will use for the duration of this endeavour.

Riveting stuff, right?

1 (what I think is a) monk. Doesn't bode well for a fun time!
I wouldn't rush to judge the party potential of the good Brother - could turn up with an awesome carry out - have you ever drunk Trappist beer? No wonder they can't speak. Most famously Buckfast is made by monks - a genteel tonic wine for most - but generally a precursor to most egregious violence where I live - ideally suited to hand to hand combat - ha ha - I.

You're absolutely correct - how could I forget the magical creators of Bucky when they're 20 minutes up the road from me!

Pirates are always a good laugh till they steal your Gold
Yo ho ho! They'd bring rum though? Hide your treasure map.

@Boycie83 - let's not forget Buckfast bees - a strain - ironically - known for their docility - my sister keeps them - trying to vaguely get back on topic - I checked the scent description of the Fra Rinik - sounds lovely - right up my back cloister. I.

The Fra Rinik is a beautiful smelling scent from the jar, Iain. Hopefully I can enable you to buy some as a result of this thread - penance for the PAA CaD and Harvest Moon I ordered yesterday off the back of your SOTD post

The Vetiver also smells beautiful. Very complex - different to the 'dirty vetivers' known among other European soaps.

Razor: Blackbird SB
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush: FS 26mm Chubby Silvertip
Soap: Extro Fra Rinik
Pre: Proraso Red
ASL: Proraso Red
ASB: RSC

Firstly the soap - the smell of the Fra Rinik is divine. When you smell this, it takes your breath away. Not in a bad way like when you fart in the shower but the way that whisks you off to sunny fields of happiness. The scent stayed for the first pass and a half before becoming more subdued as I neared the end of the shave.

Similar to other Extro soaps I've used, the lather quickly bursts in to life and provides ample slickness. There was sufficient residual slickness throughout although the Blackbird did a good job of removing anything on the surface of the epidermis. This is a contender for one of my favourite soaps. If there was one thing I could change, it would be having the strength of that scent last a little longer.

Now on to the Blackbird. She's an engineering beauty. Like some kind of weapon and I can see the link to the SR-71. She is very efficient and I enjoyed using her. I got a little complacent on my chin and picked up a weeper but that's not a reflection on this lady. The handle is very novel in its looks (in a good way) and actually performs brilliantly. No danger of dropping this. I really like the black oxide finish as well.
