@FrankieG what are your thoughts towards the aluminium General? I have the stainless and the brass Generals but the aluminium offerings from the likes of ATT and Mongoose never really set my world on fire. I found they tended to cause more damage than good.

Soap - Signature Soaps Rose & Geranium
Brush - Yaqi Rainbow
Razor - Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade - Big Ben (3)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cool Kick
AS - Akcay Tobacco

A really superb lather today with the Signatures Soaps Rose soap, but the combination of blade and razor wasn't the best. Even though it was just the 3rd shave with the blade, it should have binned on the 2nd but I couldn't be bothered to change the blade midshave. Managed to complete 2.5 passes without nicking myself so a minor success!

Anyway chaps, have a good day.
Glad the lather was good

Soap: Signature Soaps Eboracum
Brush: MÜHLE Stylo Silvertip fibre
Razors: OneBlade Core/Feather FHS-10 (2.333) & Mongoose/Kai Captain (6.666)
A/S: Nivea 2 Phase
Balm: Bart's Unscented
Smelly: Copycat Oud Intense.

Well, I knew the Feather was on its way out after its second outing on Monday. I should have binned it then rather than persevere with today's shave. One pass in and, despite the best efforts of the fantastic minty Signature Soaps lather it was dragging like a toddler who absolutely is not going to walk another step and is stridently demanding a shoulder ride. In the bin with it then, to be replaced with the Mongoose and Kai Captain, who could carry on walking around the world it seems.

What is it with Feather blades? Sharpness and longevity aren't mutually exclusive as the Kai proves all too well. It's not like there isn't plenty of meat on the FHS-10, I was tempted to try and strop it, but in the end I just couldn't be arsed. Oh Well.

I got a lovely sting from the 2 Phase after the Mongoose had worked its magic.

Arnie has nothing to worry about, No way is the OneBlade going to remove the living tissue from his metal endoskeleton...

The aluminium General gives, for me at least, an identical result to the brass or stainless one. Obviously it's a much lighter razor and you need to make sure you don't use too much pressure to overcompensate for its lightness. Its weight makes it the perfect travel razor, and that's what I use it for mainly.

I haven't used an aluminium ATT or Mongoose , but I have the RazoRock Hawk and I much prefer the aluminium General to it.

Signature Soap CoIra
Zenith Synthetic
3D printed bowl a'La @Northam Saint
Timeless SS 0.68 Scalloped
Astra SP (2)
Lynx Dark Temptation Aftershave

The Signature Soap doesn't seem fussy which of my synthetic brushes is used to whip it up in my 3D printed bowl
Brian said it was a thirsty soap, but I find it no more thirsty than most soaps or creams.
This was my third shave in a row with this soap, and again, it performed very well in all respects.
@BrianH has nailed this formulation

The Timeless/Astra SP combo has been a pleasure to use for my last two shaves. Smooth and very efficient with minimal effort .
Finished with Lynx Dark Temptation Aftershave - I know I've said it before, but this is an excellent aftershave for not a lot of money.

Sotd - this evening - Thursday the seventh of November.

Razor - ER Streamline
blade - vintage ER (lost count)
brush - Chubby 1 - best
soap - Nivea cream - tube - Spanish
post - witch hazel
a/s - Nivea - 2 in 1
balm - none needed - on my face - Nivea cool gel hidrante on my scalp.

Result - none more shaven.

I work outdoors - mostly - so what would be a rational response - in Scotland - to the change in the seasons? A proper east wind today - bitter - biting - let's shave my head and face - what was I thinking? - hence the picture above. I'm more comfortable using a cartridge razor for a head shave - these were fine. BBS upper and lower - job done. Software - wise - all Nivea - you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good result. It is all about knowing what you are doing. I do value a good 'economy' shave. Enjoy yours - I.

Pre-shave:- Argan Oil Soap
Bowl/Scuttle:- None
Brush:- Synthetic
Soap/Cream:- King of Shaves Gel
Razor/Blade:- Wilkinson Classic and Topaz (1)
Post/After-shave: Cocoa Butter/Lotion
Fragrance:- Lacoste

Shave number 1 with the Wilkinson Classic and a Topaz blade.

As you will know the Wilkinson Classic is a very mild razor, I usually start a new blade in that razor and then move to something a bit more butch at shave 3 or 4.

I know the razor is a cheapie and there are much more glamorous razors around but it works and behaves itself.

The Topaz isn't the best blade in the world but again it did its job, as did the KOS sensitive gel, I apply it direct to a wet brush and lather it into the face, I have only used it twice but I have been impressed and would suggest its one of the best shaving products from the mainstream supermarkets.
