@kamisori
Thank you for inspiration.

Tuesday SOTD

Cream - Alvarez Gomez BarberIa
Brush - YaqI Tuxedo Marble Handle
Bowl - 3D printed bowl @Northam Saint
Razor - Rockwell 6C plate 4
Blade - Gillette Platinum (3)
Balm - Pre De Province No63 Balm
Scent - Fendi Assoluto EdT

I was very impressed with how easily the 3D printed bowl and YaqI Tuxedo whipped the Alvarez Gomez cream into thick, slick lather.
I rarely bowl lather, preferring to face lather, but I may soon be a convert.
My usual WTG/ATG routine went without mishap, and in comfort.
Finished with No63 balm, and Fendi EdT

Not Sotd - today - the 10th of September

I had planned to shave today but an old friend from out of town is staying - I'd rather spent 40 minutes talking to him than mimsying around in the bathroom - I can shave tomorrow. The picture is of a bar of soap I made recently - donkey milk base - fragrance - all things mint. I don't do a pre-shave treatment - other than a shower - but if you did - this would tick all the boxes - very high in glycerin - it is stuffed with vitamin E. Not my hands - enjoy your shaves - yours - I.

Well done Iain, a very professional looking bar of soap. I'm sure it rivals the best of the best soap's out there! Very well presented. P. :)

Today was the seventh day using GSC Vetiver shaving soap, I've been most impressed with the quality of this soap, great performance with a great scent.
It is a shame this company is no longer producing these wonderful soaps.
Tomorrow will bring another soap for seven days...........

Have a lovely day folks..........P.

Tatara Masamune Nodachi
Polisilver/Gillette Silver Blue
Saponificio Varesino 2.0 HMW
Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica
LuÌ’cido aftershave

First shave with the Nodachi…

Presentation is the best I've seen from any razor manufacture. Nothing is over the top or excessive but shows care and attention made by the manufacture.

Fit and finish is of the highest level. There isn't any machine marks, anywhere. This is something other manufactures charging a premium should take note. The only thing I don't like is the extralong thread on the top cap. I reckon you could easily lose 2-3mm.

Shave report: I started with a Polsilver on it's second use. Going WTG it was very tuggy, especially on my top lip. It reminds me of the R41 in this respect. I decided to swap the blade (going XTG) for a GSB. The shave did improve, slightly. There was a lot of blade feel, too much for me anyway. The odd thing was I found going ATG to be very smooth.

I'll try a couple of different blades and try to dial in the angle on subsequent shaves but the signs aren't good. It's a shame as I like the balance, feel and weight of the razor. The head profile is low and easy to get under the nose too.

Cheers
Rob

Pre: Pears Transparent Original
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2
Soap: Proraso Red
Razor: Feather AC SS / R89
Blade: Feather PB (5) / 7'o'C Green (2)
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, Homemade Witch Hazel
Balm: Proraso Red
Aftershave: Proraso Red

SS, Red, Chub (2).JPG

Best Effort and result so far this week,
2 passes WTG & XTG with the SS leaving a very acceptable finish, no nicks, cuts or grazes. Much more confident and a lighter touch used, the angle still seems steep, although it seems to be working.
I completed an ATG buffing pass where needed with the R89 leaving me BBS.
I cannot complain about today's shave, in fact i am very pleased with myself.
No indications to speak of from the block, my face is soft, supple, comfortable and nick free.
Have a great Day all.
