Picked this up for £12 at Waitrose a few months back, finally got around to giving it a go. Surprisingly good results for such a cheap razor. Kudos to Wilkinson for putting these out there.

Thought it seemed a little too good to be true. Still worth a try for £12 though. Probably an October purchase though. My wife will hit the roof when she sees this month's shaving purchases arrive...

Don't let that put you off. It is well made, shaves well......and I applaud WS for putting a new DE into the market.

I should have read their website better, its 100% stainless steel....... blades
It's a really good shave and for £12 a bargain imo. Shaves well but not aggressive if thats what you are looking for.

I've had one of these for a few weeks and I would agree it's a good, well made razor and very efficient when using something sharp like a Lab Blue, I found the Wilkies a bit draggy when shaving ATG.This is not a re branded Weishi, as some have suggested. It has a blade gap which, visually, is around a 4-5 on a Vintage Adjustable and I found it slightly more aggressive than 'mild' - if you take the shaving action of a 1963 Tech as mild. The build quality for a £12 razor is astonishing, blade exposure is perfect and it tightens up solidly. Impressive, I wonder if this razor has nudged Gillette into their USA release of a three piece set, just before Christmas ? (Of course ! - Ever wondered why so many of those vintage adjustables are 3rd and 4th quarter date codes?)

I've got one of these and find it bl**dy lethal. There's not a lot of blade stick out but it sticks out too perpendicularly so it's like rubbing a bare blade on your face. One wrong move and you'll injure yourself . An interesting experiment but I'll stick with my Rockwell.

Tried both (metal and the plastic one)! I found much easier and safer shave my head (newbie with de) with the plastic on! About the blades it's in my fav list.

I suspect that you are right but, for the record:

Edgewell/Wilkinson have now confirmed that the handle is chrome plated brass and not stainless steel.
