Shave of the day. 11th July.

Prep ~ Mitchells Wool Fat bath soap
Razor ~ Carbon Shaving Co ~ Cx
Blade ~ NOS Personna Med Prep
Soap ~ Mitchells Wool Fat
Brush ~ Semogue 2018 LE Boar
Post ~ ABC Apricot milk aftershave lotion
Scent ~ Minotaure EdT by Paloma Picasso

My first use of NOS Personna Med Prep blade and I have to say it's a very good blade indeed, sharp but very smooth and comfortable.
I am told this blade has longevity on its side too and I should be able to get 20+ shaves from the blade! Thanks going out to @SeanC for his generous gift of the blades.
Another great shave from the Cx razor especially with the addition of the Med Prep blade.

Have a great day folks...........P.

Pears Glycerine Soap
Erasmic Bowl Shaving Soap
Omega 10065 Boar Brush
Wilkinson Sword Classic TTO with an Astra SP
Witch Hazel
Aloe Vera Gel
Brut Attraction Totale AS

I like to give the Erasmic a run out occasionally. It is one of the very few UK made soaps to be found in most high street pharmacies and I would hate to see it disappear as the others have done.
3 passes for a DFS+ result.

  • Timeless Stainless steel .95 OC
  • Lord Cool (1)
  • Prep Preshave
  • NOM Black Fibre
  • Martin de Candre Agrumes
  • Loris E-025
The first shave using the Agrumes, great smell, rich with lemons and bergamot, great slickness, and foamy like mad, a bowl full with just a little effort. The Timeless is teetering on the edge of almost comfortable, and way over the edge in the range of bloodthirsty the moment you are a tiny bit thoughtless shaving. I wonder if the .68 version is just as harsh as i read somewhere the bladegap is not what defines aggression.

I am one of those with reference to blade gap. I couldn't tell much in it between the 68 and the 95 but did lean towards favouring the 68. Either razor never disappointed though and I can't really say they gave an aggressive feel. More a smooth shave with an aggressive close shave finish.

They are great razors and found they worked well with the Polish Polsilver blades.

The razor an early Birthday Gift, and what a beauty! Now i just have to try and find the nice wooden box that went with those ;-) The soap is high on my wishlist, funny my first time using it i disliked the smell, but it has grown on me, and now i appreciate it a lot.IMG_20190710_134107small.jpg

That makes it less interesting to also acquire that baseplate. I already have the .68 scalloped and i dislike it with a passion, it is a very uncomfortable baseplate.

I'm off on leave at the moment and have spent the last 3 days decorating the house. I'm absolutely knackered and haven't had time for too many shaves recently.

With the decorating now finished (for now!) I decided to remove 4 days growth with a relaxing Stirling shave.

The R41 is simply a beast of a razor, though I seem to have ended up with a bit of irritation. The alum block gave the slightest of tingles but nothing worrying. I've only recently introduced the alum to my routine and I'm suspecting that this may be causing the redness post shave.

I'll slap a bit more balm on later and remove the alum from my next shave.

I'm feeling fresh, smelling great, though have a bit of redness.

Have a great day folks! [emoji1303]

Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Personna PC (5)
Brush - Yaqi Rainbow
Soap - Kent/MWF
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum

Today was the first time using the infamous MWF aka 'The Fat', a soap I have been reading many things about, it seems to be a soap akin to Game of Thrones/Stranger Things where unless you've spent time with getting familiar with them you've not lived.

I'd read the Fat can be a tricky beast to lather, especially with hard water and as I have in very hard water in SW London that might have been the reason why I'd avoided it until now. The things which I read about it, that it was tricky to lather and it needed a lot of soap to build a lather with and is very thirsty. Of these 3 things, I found only the latter really made an issue, I found it incredibly easy to build a great lather and not a huge amount of soap was required. Another thing which I read was the scent is very mild, I actually found it reasonable but I imagine it will go with time.

The other things about the Fat which I read was the post shave feel. I have incredibly sensitive skin, near enough any soap with the vaguest semblance of a scent seems to make my face burn not just post shave but during the shave as well. None of that with the Fat though! The lather felt good on the face and the post shave feel seems to just as good as others have reported.

A good combination with the Personna PC and BET.

A superb shave altogether.

Have a good day chaps.
