After trying these lately and finding them very nice and not wanting to use up my stash of Vintage Swedes and Silver Blue just yet, where is generally the cheapest place to get these ?

Cheers

Steve

Do these close to the old Gillette Swedes? Do they come with that slightly oily(?) smell from the blade/packaging that Swedes from about 8-10 years ago had? Last few years been using super Iridiums with no problems, but interested to know if there's a big difference.

I'll send you the 18 I have if you bang £1, (which would be my approx' postage cost), in a charity box of your choice, next time you see one.

I heartily recommend you try the blue box/white letter Platinum blade version that is sold in Eastern Europe. The jury is out whether they are the same as in your photo as some say they are and some say they are a better and improved version. I have some and I wax & wane as to which they are. Regardless, they are one of the best blades extant and at minimum are the same superb blade. ;)

@Bogeyman how do the new Eastern European GP's compare against the Gillette Rubie? I remember trying the GP (like the one the OP linked) and a Rubie and they seemed quite similar, both very smooth blades.

At this level of quality I think any decision as to which blade is better is more dependent upon the soap used & the shaver's technique as they are so damned close in performance.

Hi Steve, thought I had some of these kicking about but they're actually Silver Blue's which are NOT the same.

I used to love the ole Bleue Extra ones that you used to get

I have just one of those ol' gems left. Great blade they were.

I have several hundred of those and Swedes and what I don't use I'm taking to my grave with me !
