New Acqua di Parma shaving cream

Whilst out shopping last week, I noticed that Acqua di Parma have brought out new packaging for their men's shaving range (Collezions Barberie).

Among these the shaving cream in the tub has been reformulated. The scent has noticeably changed to the colonia scent and so I wondered if anyone has tried the most recent version.

I have one comming tomorrow, so when I try it, I will let you know how it performs.
I know the former formulation quite well.

Good to hear this and look forward to your comments.

I used the original cream in 2009 and had great results. Once it was reformulated the first time I went off it but now I am interested again at the most recent version.

I have now tried the new Colonia scented version of the AdP shave cream. I find the formulation to be the same as the V2 of the cream, wich I find to be a very good perfermer. The added scent of a favourite of mine - Colonia - makes, in my book, this a very good performing and outstanding scented cream.

I have both versions. I would say the previous version performs a little better. The only difference is the added Colonia scent which is nice thought out the shave but doesn't linger. I also have the new aftershave balm/emulsion. I do really rate it but again the scent doesn't hang around which is disappointing.

If anyone is a fan of ADP Colonia I would highly recommend Fine Accoutrements Italian citrus soap and aftershave splash. It performs better and the scent (which is an excellent clone) last longer too.

...I do still love the ADP stuff but the packaging has a lot to do with that though. I'm just been honest and swallow.:)

I tried this Agua de Colonia recently. Great scent, but needed about 2 hours of hard work to get a lather up. Well, slight exageration, but found it hard work and didn't think the performance was any better than average at best.

WOW! Really? o_O

If you found it difficult fair enough YMMV and all that but I've never read a bad word against it…until now of course. :)

I've found it one of the easiest creams to create a lather and most creams are usually very easy to create a lather.

I was surprised how thirsty the cream is given it has a honey-like consistency. Once I realised that a fair amount of water was needed, the lather came in mass and was fantastic. YMMV of course but this may help with your lather. I love the stuff - I could eat it!

Stick a slightly damp brush in the top of the tub and slowly swirl around to pick up. Transfer to a bowl and whisk around. Add touches of water to lather up. Takes 2 minutes if that.

A super lather and one of the best around.

You sick man
