A very enjoyable 2 pass shave: WTG and ATG face with WTG and XTG neck; no issues to report.

The Occam's Razor is exceptional in terms of performance, still not 100% convinced with the blade loading - the 'floating blade' concept works, seems to give a more efficient shave. However, today's shave with the Occam felt utilitarian, very functional - not that much fun.

The Bart's Balm and the Musgo No 4 were both superb; a great finish!

All the best,

Chris
Hi Chris,
I have just started out on use of the Occams on plate 2- v.good. I see you are using a mild blade is this because you are on a No3 Aggressive Plate.

Took all my Ti etc. handles out y'day, tried various combinations finally selecting this EJ lined rubber & chrome one to be the best fit so far - operationally and cosmetically.

I confirm (at least on a preliminary basis) that the rumors are true. The RS-10 does shave very, very well. Razors which give such good shaves do it with flair, but it's not that the shave they provide is predominantly sweet; instead what makes these razors stand apart is that you get a clear feeling of a safe, very safe near-perfect effectiveness.

Mike, hi - I am reasonably sure that I am on the no 2 plate - as I have not changed the head - will look again.

My first run outs with the Occam was with the Feather AC - which for me is possibly a better blade in the Occam compared with the Kai (Pink). I enjoy shaving with the Kai's, with my other SE razors (General SS, ATT SE1, General Alu) that is my go to blade. Using the Kai on this rotation was experimental.

I have ordered some Feather Pro Guards to try with the Occam. I can see me using Feather blades almost exclusively in the Occam.

Today's shave, also with the Occam and the Kai (Pink) was good, did not feel as smooth as with the Feather. Yesterday's shave felt weird, the razor was almost so good it felt functional, if that makes sense?

All the best,

Chris

Razor: EJ 3one6 SS
Blade: GSB (1)
Brush: dscosmetics 26mm Silvertip
Soap: AG AdC Barberia
Pre: Clubman Pinaud Oil
ASB: Proraso Blue
Scent: Next Signature Tonic

A buttery smooth shave from the 3one6 today. The combination of a dense and thirsty brush along with a thirsty cream meant it took sometime to get things going. When it did though, wow!

A BBS finish to sport through the day and the Next scent is really nice.

I'm certainly a fan of the 3one6. I'm still unsure if one shaves better than the other though (alu vs SS).

Brush - Zenith B07
Soap - Lea Sensitive Cream
Razor - Wilkinsons Classic
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (8)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling Kick

Superb shave today. Great lather with the Lea Cream and Zenith B07, and even though the GSB was on it's 8th shave it was still incredibly sharp.

Have a good start to the weekend chaps.

Been waiting ages for this shave, the chap I bought the razor off was taken ill so I had to be patient. First go with the GC today, impressed with the build quality and the smoothness of the shave but not quite as efficient as I expected.... Felt a bit like a Tech in use which is a good thing, for me. I can understand why they chose to discontinue the 0.68 plate... And I like milder razors!

Fearful Friday shave - Shaking in my slippers at the start.
Preparation is key as today is 2 maiden shaves, after a lot of pondering I decided to give my newly acquired Feather AC DX a run out courtesy of @Bob1955. I fitted a Kai ProGuard MG (H&S you know) to do the honours, I only intended a single "all ways" pass, firstly i did a dry run to try to get which angles i would use. Happy, i loaded the razor.
To finish the shave i decided to use the newly acquired Mongoose B3 courtesy of @globalm . Now this is a heavy piece of shaving kit, right up my street, loaded with a Kai Captain. I was not too worried about getting to grips with this beauty.;)
The 1st run out for the Yaqi Rainbow also, well, if you are going to change something - change it.
OK the soap happily bloomed a really good lather mixed up, i loaded the brush for about 1 Minute as i wanted plenty of lather, guess what? i got it, wonderfully scented slickness, i really like these Yaqi brushes. so a pre shave face wash with the 1912 face soap and a chin full of loveliness painted around the chops.
Now once my shakes had stopped i started the shave, carefully without any pressure, finding my angle and hand positions as i went, using short strokes following my hair growth and being mindful each time i started a stroke also rinsing the head regularly i completed the 1st pass . Yeah! NO CLARET (y)or irritation(y), the razor and blade being both efficient and comfortable, to be honest i was going to carry on, then common sense took over. "Its not planned".
A quick rinse & a very good result achieved.
More pre shave soap, another chin full of lather and the Mongoose stepped up. This is really nice in my Gorilla's mit. Again no pressure and only guidance needed the Mongoose cleared up using a XTG pass, the blade again very comfortable and efficient. A rinse and repeat, although the 3rd pass ATG was really only a buffing pass.
A good rinse followed by the Alum rub - No indications at all, i am Glass smooth and very comfortable, a splash of my Homemade Bay Rum #1 and let that settle and it works.
A bit more to clean up today but it was worth it.
Re hydrated with the wonderful Barts Balm and finished with a splash of 1912 Citrus Musk.
As i got the samples of blades included in My Vector purchase i will be on the look out to buy more of the Kai Captain and the Kai ProGuard.
What a start to the weekend,
Have a great one yourselves fellow chin scrapers.
