Friday 14th June

Pears Glycerine Soap
Haslinger Honig Shaving Soap
Yaqi Metal 24mm Synthetic Brush
Rolls Razor
Alum and Rinse
Witch Hazel
Dove Moisturiser
Benjamins Bay Rum with Pimento

My first shave with my recently acquired Rolls Razor (thankyou @Blademonkey). I am not sure how it should feel in use and I had to remind myself that the blade is actually a wedge and initially I think I had the angle wrong but it improved when I positioned it flatter and used shorter strokes. At times there was some tug......not as sharp as other blades I use but 3 passes left me DFS+ with the satisfaction of having at last....used a Rolls. The shave passed the Alum test....so a very good first attempt.

14/6/19

Brush - Yaqi Mysterious Space Fan Tuxedo
Soap - Tabac
Razor - Lord L6
Blade - Rapira Platinum Lux
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling Kick
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

I revisted another blade I'd had less than positive results with to see whether it was the blade I'd struggled with or my technique, and in today's shave it was definitely the latter. The combination of razor and blade was a great one today, smooth and efficient for 3 very comfortable passes.

A really great lather as well, even if I did load up too much water the lather still had more than enough cushion. The more I use Tabac the more I'm growing to like it, seems to have the best post shave feel of any soap I've used as well.

After yesterdays very close shave with the Dart I decided to go again only this time use a Voskhod blade.
A nice lather mixed up with the OSP and Omega, although the brush seemed a bit soft today. It did not detract from the wonderful slickness & scent of the soap. Its Hard not using the OSP (rationing you see).
So with technique very much on my mind and the "no pressure" song going around my head i started. I found a better angle quickly, a little more open than i was led to believe i needed after reading reviews of steep angle required, no pressure at all applied and away i went, very smooth indeed. Not as much blade feel as yesterday, although there is still some, a nice sound/feedback from the razor/blade letting you know it is removing the stubble.
Only 2 Passes required, WTG and a XTG/ATG mix, with a little buffing. I picked up a tiny weeper on my chin at the end - Complacency on my part trying to clear out my chin dimple. I put the NIK stick on it and it went. Minor indication from the Alum Block, a cold water splash and a rub of witch hazel.
Rehydrated with the Barts Bergamot and Vanilla, very nice and a splash of the wonderful OSP Spice Road.
BBS smooth, smelling great and ready for a meeting this afternoon.
Enjoy your Friday night and the rest of the weekend

Fridays Shave and a 2nd Run for the Paradigm , and the Polsilver definitely suited it much better.

Still learning the Razor of course but it deceptive , shaves very smooth but you still need to be careful with it as it has some bite, Managed a bit of razor burn on the neck where I went after it too much :) We live and Learn.

So let's carry on with the OCs. Today's ritual fell to just about one the prettiest razor I have in the collection, the 1938-39 Sheraton. This one is also courtesy of Chris Spencer at BackRoadsGold and plated in 24k. Stunning looker and a phenomenal shaver. I would rate this particular razor as middle of the road on the aggression scale and slightly more so than my 34/35 OC Aristocrat. Loaded up with any good DE blade and it is a smooth shaver.

Soap of the day was B&M Seville just to keep with the barbershop theme. Great scent and between the CBL and RazoRock this week this one is the more vibrant scent. Great performer.

Loaded up the same brush I have used all week and went to town. By the way if you are looking for a great brush with some good backbone and scritch this is one you might want to take a look at. Rocky Mountain Barber Company, which they say is Best Badger but I don't know because it has more scritch (which I enjoy) than any Best Badger I own. I got mine when they first came out Oct 2017 and have been impressed ever since.

Proceeded to get through a very nice two pass DFS which for a Friday was thoroughly enjoyed. Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all! We The North!

Fri 14th June

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
P & B Citra Royale
King Cobra / Barberos Kalyon handle
Schick Proline [ 3 ]
Tuff Green A/ S Lotion

I felt more at home with the King Cobra today, and though it is more aggressive than my other AC/SEs I had a trouble free Shave. There is no doubt in my mind that P&B soaps provide a great lather to Shave with , todays Shave being very smooth with a good all round finish.
