SOTD : Saturday 13th April - Friday 19th

It's not the thickest of creams I've tried
Ingram cream had a problem which seemed to last for ages but I think that was probably indicative of the length of time it took to use up the offending batch. It seemed to settle out in the tube resulting in a very watery cream. I will admit....I didn't use it as much as I had done, although the performance was still good

Sunday morning

The Fat
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Muhle R41 head on iKon OSS handle
Alum
Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
Floïd Mentally Vigorous

I couldn't think of a better approach to five days of growth than the maiden voyage of the newly acquired R41 head. Similar to discussions about ER 1912 trepidation, I was a bit wary of being bitten.

Unfounded worries. A tremendous three-pass shave was had (two would have sufficed). The reputation of the R41 as ‘aggressive' (an unhelpful term: ‘efficient' is more apt, imo) is unwarranted, it is an incredibly smooth razor; and gave me the closest shave I can remember. Mind you, I can't remember having five days of growth for a long time.

You are right, the term "aggressive" is not helpful, especially to newbies like myself. "Efficient" is a much more user friendly term.

Sun 14th April
RazoRock Plissoft 22mm
OSP Bay Rum
Mongoose B3
Feather Pro [ 2 ]
Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion

A rather enjoyable Shave today with the Mongoose. Using a Feather blade rather than the usual Proline, I found the combo to be vey smooth and efficient. In fact the combo worked so well together, that the Shave seemed to be over in less time than usual, yet the quality of finish was of the face stroking variety. I am now quite glad I did not sell on my Stache of Feather blades, as they seem ideal for use in the Mongoose.

My cream wasn't watery at all, it just wasn't as thick and gloopy as some other creams, like yours though the performance was pretty good.

14 April

TFS Corte Sabauda
Simpson Barrule 2 band super
Feather Artist Club SS (1st pass)
MÜHLE 101 (2nd pass)
Feather blades
Bart's Balm lime oil asb

Disappointing shave this morning, but, a great overall result. The lather from the TFS shaving soap was as usual excellent, but as soon as I took razor to face the shave was even more uncomfortable and catchy than usual. I managed to open the same area of skin on the top lip as on previous outings, but this time it was worse. I decided to put the Feather to one side and used my MÜHLE 101 with a Feather blade to do the second pass and finished up with a smooth shave and an excellent result. This was the sixth Shave with the Feather Proguard, perhaps it was one shave too many, or perhaps it is my undoubted lack of ability.

Greetings,

Another relaxing Williams Uber/Superlather sunday shave. ...a late posting due to connection problems this morning.

It's been a while since i last used the body shop maca root cream, which i've had for over two year now, but it's still perfectly ok to use, added to the williams soap glycerin & tea tree oil presented another exceptional smooth slick protective lather, the eucalyptus oil addtion creates a invigorating fragrance to the superlather inbetween each pass, and leaving a wonderful post shave feel to my face.

A smooth razor & blade duo, the mild non-aggressive w.s. classic premium benifitted from the bolzano s.i. blade, making a smooth efficient duo.The bolzano blades have became my favourite blade at the moment, every razor i've matched them up the results have been excellent...What more can i ask for.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Boots ~ Freshwood Aftershave Balm.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine. ;)

Enjoy your sunday, ladies & gentlemen.

14/4/19

Pre - Soap Bloom Water
Soap - Vitos Red
Brush - Omega 80265
Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword China
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - RSC
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum Mentholated

My sample of Vitos Red is coming to an end and I have decided I like it enough to order a kilo brick of it. It is truly superb.

5th or 6th shave with the MIC GWS and every shave with it has been superb.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: M&F Brad Sears L7 Tigris Finest Badger
Soap: OSP Barbershop
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade:NOS London Bridge
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Acca Kappa 1869 EDP

The OSP range of soaps is the purest expression of tallow soap that I have found. Very easy to lather, and wonderful performance and post shave.
My only criticism is that I find their scents a little weak - I prefer robust scents.
Three passes for a very confortable DFS+ result. The London Bridge blade really does work well in the Sticky.

A late shave today before my night shift. 3 passes for an exceptional shave.....all I could really wish for apart from the Night off.
Looking forward to watch Game of Thrones when I get home tomorrow morning!
