Benefits of SE over DE?

Presumably the Hawk and kai captains? Beautiful razor. When you get a mo try it with Prolines. Superb blades.

It is indeed; as I reported on my SOTD last night. Not overly ecstatic with its build quality but as a performer, first class. For what it cost it is one very good razor in terms of end results.

To go back a few weeks. Since starting this thread I have gone from SE curiously sceptical to a total convert.

So sold on my first shave with the Hawk it was a necessity that it be joined by another and the Colonial General being its 'shaving cabinet friend'. Both incredibly capable, smooth and efficient.

This is like a whole new world of shaving and my wife is going to love how much extra bathroom time she is going to adopt when I get home tomorrow. Also have some Schick Proline blades to look forward to which are waiting courtesy of patw.

To all you chaps who swayed me. Thank you

I'm very much in the early stages of my journey, but it is the Hawk that I reach for most of the time.

I think of it as the shave of a straight, with the speed and safety of a DE.

I haven't given up on DE yet, but I can see a thinning of the herd on my bathroom shelves.

Cheers, John

Have you never tried an injector razor? Far more nimble than those abominable "wiper blade" AC blade razors IMO.

Not as yet and after only just coming to terms with those abominable "wiper blade" AC blade razors I don't think it is quite on the books for the near future.

So far I am getting the most unabominable shaves from my new SE experience and I can't say anything abominably negative. If I did that would be lying and now that would be abominable.

May be injectors for somewhere in the future when my wife goes senile and she doesn't understand understanding.......but I doubt she will.

The Cobra is incredibly nimble, think injector on steroids. Not as nimble as an E3 but more so than an E2.
I've tried three AC bladed razors and the Mongoose was the only one I couldn't get on with.
Couldn't get a close shave under the jawline.

Now you've stepped into the SE world, an injector is a good trick to have up your sleeve if you're in a hurry.
I'd recommend a Schick E3 or a Pal Injecto-matic.
