Two passes and very close to BBS. The blade is an L1 from 1966, but it's incredibly smooth without compromising on sharpness.

Council skip - ATT M2 Kronos Feather
Outside garbage bin - Gentlemen's Tonic
Kitchen bin - Muhle butterscotch synthetic
Bathroom pedal bin - L'Occittane Cade
Tea bag table tidy - Odds and sods I couldn't be bothered to move out of the way

It always makes me laugh when I am confronted with a 6" pedal bin on a table. With a pair of size 11 Doc Martens are they kidding?

Garbage out of the way and on with the rest of my usual trash

After a couple of shaves with the M2 and a Feather as the chosen working end I am not sure it is the best of matches. Only recently did I say something down the lines of 'I find Feathers more suited to razors with tight tollerances'. The M2 oozes quality and great machining tolerances but I find the Feather just a little too much.

It is hard not to draw blood even if it is just surface bleeding or the tiniest of little nicks. Those 'Oh no' moments which appear just after you thought a great BBS had been had. In the words of the Sex Pistols, 'Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?'

Or is it the user who needs to tighten their tolerances?

Whichever it is; I find it a razor which partners better with a more forgiving blade.
Lessons learnt and earlier quotes taken back and inwardly digested.

Gentlemen's Tonic. In this case I retain anything I have said previously. Damn fine and a great cream which gives equally as good results and pleasure. Two terms Mrs Satanfriendly rarely uses when referring to me. But God loves a trier. Pity I sit the other side of the eternal barrier.

Muhle butterscotch synthetic brush. I ain't going down the same old road to describe It, but it is.

With most shaves I do like to use a moisturiser (a skin thing with me) and I find the Cade after shave balm covers all sins and does the box ticking exercise thing nicely. A wonderful product which I can never have enough of. And when I don't I am a miserable old soak.

So a kind of pseudo BBS shave today. Felt good, but the little bleeding which occurred spoilt what should have been heavenly. Instead it rather reminded me of home and infernal damnation.

A shave relegated to the bathroom garbage bin

Wednesday 8th August PM

Prep: Warm water rinse, Nivea Sensitive Face Wash then Nuage Shave Oil
Soap: THE Gentleman's Groom Room Highland Bothy
Brush: ES Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (1)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber then Nivea Sensitive Post Shave balm.

I'm doing extended hours at work just now and the drive home was a complete pain in the a**e. To try and keep myself sane I was choosing what I'd shave with this evening as I was driving the mundane roads.

Knowing that my time with the Newbie Pass Around Box is about to come to an end, I wanted to make sure that I go out on a high. So it was a simple choice - the Highland Bothy soap from The Gentleman's Groom Room.

Not wanting to seem too greedy and use the last of the “good stuff” in the box, I circled back to my own box too. Choosing the Nivea face wash and Post Shave Balm along with the Nuage oil.

I also chose a new Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless blade as I had good results from that previously - as recommended by @Blackmass.

Again the scent from the lather took me back to the great outdoors. Simply overwhelming. The blade glided through the lather with me again thinking I wasn't at the correct angle. But yet again it performed so smoothly.

WTG, XTG was over far too quick. After rinsing I could again feel the same area on my neck was needing particular attention. As I went ATG I used the J-Hook method which addressed most of problem area, but there is just one patch that I'm still struggling with. Pulling, pushing, stretching, pressing (with my fingers not the razor!), everything, but it just doesn't want to get as close as everywhere else. However, I decided enough was enough and left it as is, to try again tomorrow. I'm thinking this weekend I might have a shave with no other purpose than to get this one bit once and for all! Maybe buffing that area will give me a better result?

Everywhere else is spot on. A quick splash with Thayers and splatter of Nivea balm and I was happy.

The rabbit hole has jumped up and grabbed me! That's me started ordering a few things here and there (Proraso pre shave and soaps). This is truly the life!

Hope you all had a great day and here's to all future shaves!

My face wasn't in the mood for a shave tonight and in turn neither was I.

Tried the C&S soap kindly gifted to me by James AKA @Acer89 .

I have tried C&S (No 88) before but wasn't a fan of the scent or at least something, maybe the smell of the tallow?
This (O&C) wasn't as bad scent wise but I didn't create a great lather. There wasn't much protection and blade was tuggy. After the first pass I swapped the blade but there wasn't much improvement.
I decided to rescue the shave and reached for the Cyril R Salter.
The shave did improve but my face still felt quite tender. I was in two minds to carry on but I did complete my 3 passes and a few touch-ups.
Thankfully I wasn't left with any tenderness. Finishing off with the cooling Emulsion. The results? Surprising good. Go figure.
