YaQi 24mm 'Tuxedo' Synthetic

I soak my brushes from time to time in a 5-10% white vinegar + water solution for a few minutes 2 to 3 times, if needed I gently brush the base of the knot with an old soft toothbrush to remove scale residues, rinse and Bob's your uncle.

No vinegar so soaked in Fairy, tested lathering detergent but result was too airy for shaving:), sacrificed toothbrush, rinsed, now most of the white stuff is gone.

Got a problem with residue at the very base of the knot where it meets handle, been using shaving creams lately not sure if that is important, anyway how do you keep your brushes clean?
Some individual products do indeed leave more residue than others. Proraso has been a major culprit it the past

I give my synthetic brushes a 30 minute soak, then wash with hair shampoo, once every 3 or so months.

Any crevices on the handle get cleaned with an old toothbrush

How are you all finding your Yaqi synthetics? Whilst I think they look great (I have the black marble Tuxedo), and are good value for money, I prefer the Razorock Plissofts myself for the softer feel on the face.

Exactly my thoughts I've echoed before. The plissoft knot has great face feel with right amount of backbone..having said this I also own most Yaqi in tuxedo knots. I have ordered one in barber pole handle which looks like a plissoft look alike, till such time RR rocks !

I mainly use my tuxedo if I'm using a soap which may need a bit of encouragement to lather up. I find it very soft on the face but lacking a bit of backbone. I like the knot size as I also shave my head so coverage is quick and easy. As its the only synth I currently own (I have a Maggards on the way) I can't really compare it to any others. I like it but still prefer my badger and boar brushes.
