Euthymol toothpaste, opinions?

I'll put it down to the Veg' then :D

Still, super toothpaste. While it is a lesser kick than the original, it's certainly one out there on its own. Fluoride-free, but it does have saccharin. Shame. I think I'll carry on with it, though. My regular toothpaste is Spry - fluoride-free and sweetened with xylitol, new enough not to have known health issues ... but it begins with "x" so it must be evil. Why toothpaste needs sweetening, I'll never know ...

Hi Paul xylitol is a teeth whitening agent (helps remove plaque) quite prominent in Scandinavian countries, infact its an integral part of children's oral hygiene at schools (they have breaks to chew on xylitol containing products) meant to be good stuff so far. Sweeteners I'm in your camp, no idea, masking the taste is a poor exscuse.

Yeah, xylitol is found in the woody cellulose in all sorts of plants. Remember how when we were kids, chewing your greens was a good thing? This is why. When it is industrially extracted (abstracted) and used as an additive, I have grave concerns about (a) its safety and (b) its effectiveness. Declaring it a "natural sweetener" is like declaring saccharin a natural sweetener (it comes from coal tar, natural, right?). Declaring it safe is only a matter of perspective. Aspartame was safe until it was found to be really quite problematic. With over 2.5 million years of human history, to do something in the last few years with even less time out in the wild and be declared safe, it's premature to say the least. Xylitol at least does have a whole bunch of dental positives as well as being sweet.

Still, lesser of a whole bunch of evils - if there's no fluoride in and no aspartame, that's half of the battle won.

Morrisons and Tesco. It recently came back in stock after a bit of a disappearance which I think was down to problems with the ingredients and the EU, allegedly. It appears to be the same in taste though thankfully, as I love the stuff. And £1.80 a tube.
I love this stuff. Used it since I was a kid

My understanding is that the formula was changed to comply with EU regulations. It disappeared from the market for about a year while it was being reformulated. I never tried the old formula, but I'm quite pleased with the current one, so I don't feel the loss. :)
I loved the old formula and have never bothered to try the new one but after reading some comments here I will be getting some quick snap.

Used it for years....but the other half likes whitening tooth pastes so I have drifted away. Need some more after reading this thread......a walk through town is required as on line prices are crazy:eek:
You can get it much cheaper in the supermarket or super drug, that's where I will be going next time but for convenience and next day delivery this time I used Amazon, can hardly wait! I hope it's as good as I remember it being.
