Which pre shave oil?

I like the executive shaving oil. This is a very thick oil which gives great protection and glide. The oil it self is water based which means it does not leave any residue in the sink nor does clog up the blade. I Love using it. I've not tried the BBA shave oil so can't compare them both.

The Executive shaving oil get a lot of good reviews, been thinking of ordering that one myself.

ES oil was my go-to pre-shave for the exact reasons you state, but since starting to use BBA, I'm converted, the performance may be similar, but I'm convinced that the ingredients in the BBA are better and the benefits to the skin continue outside of the actual shave.

I will have to give it a go then who said DR was supposed to be cheaper???

For what its worth, and I appreciate that YMMV :) BBA Shave Oil is the dogs bollocks - a great oil, protection, lubrication and skin benefits. I say this having tried many shave oils over the years. A close second for me is the Gentleman's Groom Room Shave Prep Plus - packed with excellent mix of oils, also gives excellent protection, lubrication and skin benefits.

I spent a while typing out, what I thought might have been, a response that might have been of some help or benefit specifically to a couple of the newer contributors above. Clearly it wasn't. I deleted it.

I'll not bother next time.

Things move on, times change. People come and go. I must move on with them.

The original, and the best...Somersets!

I discovered this oil in 2004 and used it as my sole shaving oil when I used the mach 3 razor.

It is overall the best shave/pre shave oil.
I now make my own but it's the only commercial shave oil I would recommend.
