NEO razor by The Shavedoctor

I could get banned from here for even THINKING what I am about that!!

I feel very sorry for people that don't know how to research something before deciding to make their "wonder product". How much are the consumables going to be for that???
Cartridges still make me cringe, even after two years.
Many thanks for your post, I thought I needed to reply to defend myself and my company, infact what I can say is that it has taken us years of R&D research and years of intensive practical research via my professional wet shave training courses that I deliver across the globe to have enabled us to get to launching this innovative system razor. We have surveyed over 60,000 men and shaved over 1100 in our own shave tests together with 350 in independent tests with incredible positive feedback and results. One big shaving issue that men loath today is the ridiculous price of blades which is something we wanted to address before we launched our razor system, so our blades are 40% cheaper than Gillette and made from Swedish Teflon Titanium Stainless Steel and will last upto 4 times longer giving the consumer better value for money and a quality shave. Coupled with the Shavedoctor products that I created and developed from my 30 passionate years in the barbering industry we have a product range used by barbers all over the world, used by consumers all over the world and enjoyed by consumers all over the world. We are not a Gillette and never will be and pride ourselves of offering professional products at an affordable price that can be enjoyed at home or in the barber shop. I have spent many years with my training school teaching barbers how to deliver the barber shop shave and how to use an open blade razor and understanding mens shaving issues and I still use the traditional shaving tools to shave myself but not all men want to shave every day or every week using the traditional methods. Our objective was to take advantage of mine and my teams broad knowledge of the shaving industry and give the safety razor consumer an alternative to Gillette who have had the global shaving monopoly for far too long now.

NASA tried for many years, spending millions of dollars on developing a pen that would write on anything, in space.

The Russians brought pencils.

Mark, I admire your post but there are better, simpler and much cheaper options than Gillette.......and unfortunately Shavedoctor!

I have to agree with you there are more cheaper options than Gillette and having worked with the biggest names in the shave care industry whilst out supporting them on their consumer/promotional road shows 95% feedback was that the cheaper options just didn't deliver. We have already made a positive impact in this category and sold out within 3 weeks after launching online before Christmas with feedback from users since being an extremely enjoyable and positive shave experience. From years of our research this has been developed out of demand for the modern man. However unless you have used or tried the Shavedoctor products i don't agree with your opinion of better.

I'm aware of the whole space pen myth, I was using the analogy somewhat satirically. There is more of a basis to the myth than stated in that article too as it doesn't take astro/cosmonauts own account. I still feel it is bringing a sword to a gunfight.

Am ever so tempted to be cheekt and ask if the production team have sufficient confidence in the product to give or provide on extended trial a current version for our pass around . Quick perusal of the site will demonstrate that the forum has a vast array of shavers of varying degrees of experience using all types of kit. I'm sure that the system would get a fair trial.

I am not singling Shavedoctor out, rather cartridge based systems of which I have used basically every type I could find for twenty eight year. They all had the same shortcomings, all of which I've discovered I was not alone in thinking, from the wealth of knowledge on all these forums. I congratulate and applaud you on trying to improve products, I just feel that cartridge based systems are not the way forward. How much research was done amongst traditional (DE/SE/Straight) shavers? Was any carried out amongst the many forums, or those aware of the benefits of those methods?

Johnny, not a problem however I am aware that the traditionalists who no longer shave with a safety cartridge razor wont be the ideal shave testers of our product, i know of many traditional shavers including some friends of mine who now loath cartridge based razors because of what they perceive as a poorer quality shave, hiked price points and just a genuine hatred for what that company stands for or represents but willing for men who shave with a cartridge razor system to test it. If you can send me a PM with your address details I will ensure we get some samples out.

I would be more than willing to give the razor a try! It definitely grabbed my attention when i saw it on facebook advertised. Originally i put the site up because the advert is fun and it looks beastly. I have never even used cartridge systems myself, went straight from electric to DE (also shavette for work), so im curious about it anyway.

Mark, thanks for getting onto the thread to give your side of the story.

Johnny, pleasure to communicate in a gentlemanly, open minded and constructive manner. It may look beastly but it is as light as any conventional cartridge based razor and needs to be of a certain size to house the foam cartridge that sits inside the razor handle giving the consumer upto 12 shaves which is great for travelling with too.
