I have so far benefitted greatly from the generous pass arounds on this forum. So I figured it was time to give back. Unfortunately most of my razors are not very exciting, unusual or rare. One exception is my Bigelow & Parkin folding razor. You can read my review of this tiny marvel here:
http://theshavingroom.co.uk/community/index.php?threads/bigelow-parkin-folding-razor.33313/

So here is an opportunity to try this little machine without having to track it down and buy it. You might hesitate, but the razor looks scarier than it actually is. If you understand blade angle and aren't afraid to use the big handle attached to your elbow, this razor can be a lot of fun.

Normal pass around rules apply: The razor is your responsibility from the moment you receive it until the next person receives it. You break it, you buy it. Make sure it is thoroughly clean and shave ready when you pass it on. Use at least ‘signed for' delivery when passing it on. Enjoy the shave and let us know what you think.

Yeah, I'd like a go please ... as you know, I rarely shave with a DE but I do have a few blades still kicking about and a renewed interest in the more esoteric end of that milieu.

What is the indicative value of this razor for the purposes of correct cover when posting on?

Assuming I'm acceptable ...

You're more than acceptable, Paul. The razor cost me just over 20 quid all in with postage from the US, but it was a bit of a bargain, I thought... I guess large letter up to £50 would be more than sufficient. It is tiny...

As a little encouragement: I just had one last shave with the wee one, before giving it a good clean and barbicide and send it on its way. Shaves with this razor are becoming easier and easier. I just had a very easy, uneventful BBS shave. I didn't even have to think much about it. A good, slick lather helps a lot. Not scary. At all. Really. You don't believe me? Try it out yourself!

Great to see that I'm not the only nutter here. :D The wee one should go out to Paul on Monday, if I can figure out how to package it securely as a large letter (up to 25mm thick). I have ideas...

If anyone thinks this razor is too scary, geofatboy has a YouTube video doing a two pass shave with a Bigelow and Parkin razor. He makes it look so easy. And that's because it is. Have a look if you don't mind his style ;)
There are still places left on the list....

Bigelow & Parkin make the safety razor equivalent of knuckle dusters!

Strange indeed to use a razor without a handle, but so intuitive to use. My only issue was loss of grip as the shaved soap spilled over onto my fingertips. Other than that, an eminently excellent razor.

Glad you like it. Told you so.... Intuitive is indeed a good word for this razor.
Come on people! Have fun! Try this razor! :D
