Soap: WSP Vetiver
Post: Cold Water Rinse/Alum

A shave using both the brass and chrome final cut adjustable razors from Yaqi. Both performed really well but for me, the brass version felt a little bit smoother.

I’m getting over Covid and although testing negative, I’m still coughing and easily tired. So what better than arranging an enjoyable shave to improve one’s mood.

To that end, I went for a known combination that would give me a pampering, effortless shave. The Fatboy on 6, a used Wilkinsons’ Sword, the Wool Fat mixed up with the Semogue. Actually this was the first time I’ve used the Owners Club with the Wool Fat and of course in combination, they were superb. I spent a little more time than usual hydrating the lather, which meant that the post shave feel is smooth and clean, with no need for any balms or aftershaves.

On 6 for the WTG and ATG passes meant that I really only needed one neck pass ATG at 5 to finish. Lovely!

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves!

Hmmm:unsure:,
A shave of 2 passes, a brilliant 1st pass and i really could have stopped there, however, the Imp on the left shoulder was whispering "go for it, go on!"
So i did, all OK really, however a couple of grazes under the chin, probably down to finishing a couple of strokes from the wrist instead of the elbow. Nothing 2 bad, the cold rinse sorted it out for a definite BBS finish.
A tiny bit of indication from the witch hazel, calmed by the balm and then a fleeting bit indication from the splash.
All in all a good shave.
The Imp on the right shoulder suggesting "you need more practice bonny lad!";)
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

Was it similar to having the flu or a chest cold?

Not been on here for ages but here goes.

To do my bit for the Platinum Jubilee I decided to have a vintage shave from as close to 1953 as possible. After scrabbling round the shave den I came pretty close.

Razor - Gillette Fatboy, this actual one was manufactured in the 2nd quarter of 1961.
Blade - Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow.
Shaving cream - Palmolive for men in a squeezy tube. Was around in the 1950's.
Aftershave - Geo F Trumper Eucris. First released in 1912 and unchanged since. It made the shave today because Ian Fleming in his 1963 book On Her Majesty's Secret Service wrote about it being James Bonds aftershave. Daniel Craig also uses it in Skyfall. Trumper's is in Curzon Street London, the same street as the British Secret Service at the time. So it's in twice, once for 1963 date and once for me now smelling as if I am on her majesty's secret service.
Brush - Kent Pure Badger brush. Also mentioned in the same paragraph as the book above are Kent brushes. They have also have the royal seal of approval as they are appointed brush makers to the Queen.
I dropped in my Standard Conway box camera for the picture just because it was made in 1952. Music for the shave was 1953's greatest hits. A glass of Port will be raised at exactly 9pm to the Queen.

Friday

So, as far as I'm concerned, the Astra green are definitely for the Mrs to shave her legal with. Today I used Nacet blades and unlike the last 2 days my face isn't sore at all.

Signature Leodis once again a great shave component

Have a nice day all, turned out lovely today

Assume you don't mind the missus having sore legs then?

Ah, right - legs. Typo. Got it. Makes sense.
I've been sitting here all confused as to what other part of the body "legal" might be a euphemism for :oops:
