Razor: Hone 15
Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless , 2nd use
Brush: Shedeleven Spalted Scottish Hawthorn AP Shave Co G5C 26mm Fan
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: Taylor’s Of Old Bond Street Lime Zest Cream
Aftershave: TOBS No. 7 Lime Aftershave
Balm: Seaforth! Spice Lime Aftershave Toner Lotion

A great shave from my original Hone 15, I’m very tempted to cut my loses with the Hone 15s as even with the better shorter handle the steel version just isn’t as good as this. They shave is smoother and arguably this lots better. Torn between sending it for a polish and plate or selling it as is. Regardless today was a delightful shave and well needed.
Enjoy your day guys.
Polish and replate mate! JJ will make it look amazing. Don’t give up on your holy trinity yet…

And arriving from the Yorkshire wolds I present my shave with the theme 'Zen and the art of lawn maintenance'

20220503_213148.jpg

Miracle grow - Razorock Hawk V3
Miracle grow remover - Schick Proline
Grow lawn dressing - Razorock 400
Weed and feed liquid - Murdock's cream
Aftercut treatment - Pure moisturiser

'You couldn't trim my lawn after you've shaved my legs could you love?'

Spent a lot of time over in Yorkshire trying to make some sense of my father's back garden since he passed. If dad left a legacy it was odd shaped lawns. Getting there but giving the grass time to overgrow the seams before I wade in with the grass razor. 7 hours with my brother on the decking yesterday....

20220503_203511.jpg

Don't even ask why the cricket bat. @Blademonkey was equally baffled.

I digress

In between lawns and wood I do manage to get my daily facial mow in to the mix.

On this occasion it was time to roll out the rock although by the end of the shave the Proline was on its last legs. LBW and back to the pavilion it went. Not the most perfect shave as a result, but good enough to help feel better after a day of heavy duty gardening. The 400 very much at home with the superb quality Murdock's and team lather giving a good show of itself.

Altogether a most welcome shave and feeling happier with life.

So happy, you can have some of the most happy of Japanese girlies being, well, happy.

I love you all

Razor: Green Cult Razor
Blade: Astra SP, 3rd use
Brush: Yaqi Freedom Italian Flag 24mm Cashmere
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Aftershave: Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey EDT
Balm: Bart’s Balm Sample Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

A lovely shave from the Green Cult, even the handle was fine today and it gave me my closest shave of the week with ease and no irritation. It’s an absolute bargain if you can get one I’d heartily recommend it. Even at the near £60 it now costs in the UK it’s still a bargain. (I was lucky and got mine for £40!)
Paired up with the Wickhams and Yaqi Cashmere and it was a great shave.

Soap: 3P

I've had the .68 plate for nearly two years and this is the first time I've used it - inspired by @Gairdner . It provided a nice comfortable shave.

3P is an excellent soap. I'm tempted to get a 1kg brick of it to soothe the hoarder in me.

Star wars day - May the 4th be with you, always :)

Pre-shave:
Hot shower, Wright's cold tar soap, followed by cold water splash and Truefitt & Hill Pre-shave oil.
Cream: Truefill & Hill Indian Lime.
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 - Synthetic.
Razor: Edwin Jagger - 3ONE6.
Blade: Gillette Winner (day 1).
Post: Cold water splash, D R Harris Pink Aftershave, Truefitt & Hill 1805, followed by a liberal spray of Truefitt & Hill 1805.

I have been enjoying slow horses - Garry Oldman as Jackson Lamb is amazing - one of the characters was getting a shave at - Truefitt & Hill; I have never used their products before and curiousity got the better of me; loved the Indian lime shaving cream as a starter and then branched out. Many thanks to @Ian T at the Gentleman's Groom room for stocking such a fine array of Truefitt & Hill and for taking the time to listen to my woes and for his humanity and advice - much appreciated.

Sadly, my Dad is slowly slipping away - he is comfortable, and it is a matter of making the best of the time we have left. At the moment, one of the few things that he looks forward to is a shave - he has never commented on that before, but he feels set up for the day and happy after a good shave. Sadly, he is unable to shave with carts anymore and is getting an electric razor, but still. (I appreciate that when it comes to choice of shaving gear everyones milage may vary :)).

To cheer myself up, I also got a Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 razor, after seeing that on Shave of the Day - an amazing shave - smooth, efficient, effective - at the moment I feel that this is a great daily driver with the performance of the Rocca v4, but kinder on the skin (not that the Rocca is bad).

The Star wars shave today was amazing - 2 passes of joy - BBS finish, without looking for that. The hardware and the software both combined very well - a joyous affair!

Unfortunately, my mum is also now seriously ill; sadly she had a significant seziure 4 weeks ago, which lasted for more than an hour; she is back home but a shadow of her former self.

Wishing everyone all the best - I am sorry for not posting for a while - I had hoped to be posting more regularly but life had changed again. I drop in and the posts here cheer me up no end.

All the best,

Chris

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Lynx Africa Body Wash.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Chantry Lavender Goat's Milk Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Cream.
Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp. (D4)
Razor: Merkur 34C.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Williams Aqua Vela ASL.(Spanish Version)/Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

Greetings,

Early Morning Shave,

A wonderful shave to finish my shaving week off in style.

The Perma-sharp has been the star performer of all my shaves this week. On it's 4th use and final outing it paired up with the Merkur 34c wonderfully....However, the Perma-Sharp felt noticeable more aggressive than with the but with the same level of smoothness this could be due to the Merkur 34c having a slightly heavier handle than the Muhle R89 wonderfully.

My reacquaintance with the perma-sharp has been wonderful.

I personally find the second shave with the perma-sharp always feels much smoother. However, this could be down to me familiarising myself with the blade again after a long hiatus of not using them it takes a few shaves for me to get use to them again.

In my future shaves i intend to reacquaint myself with the Bolzano Superinox Inossidable which has been a past favourite that i have infrequently added to my DE blade rotation due to reaching for my usual suspects.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.
