In praise of Lea shaving soap

Just spending some time in Spain to catch some winter sun. I was in the local supermarket (Mercadona) and picked a stick of Lea shaving soap for €1. 30. I've been here 6 weeks now and shaved every 2nd day. I have only used the Lea stick because, frankly, i haven't wanted to use anything else. OK it doesn't have much of a scent, but it functions so well. My skin has never felt better after a shave. The razor (my usual Rockwell 6C on 5, with my usual voskhod blade) just glides, with far less irritation.

I've got the bottom end of an Lea stick somewhere that someone on here threw in. I concur it's a sleeper, looks underwhelming, costs pennies, performs brilliantly and doesn't fight with your splash.

Connaught sell 2 sticks for £3.60, obviously not as cheap as Spanish supermarkets but still cheap enough.

I’m a big fan of Lea. I like the cream and the 3in1 balm is fantastic. Yet to try the “classic” soap.
A lot of Spanish shaving products are great and it's worth trying out a few different things when you're there as you won't find them cheaper anywhere else. I'd recommend picking up some Floid aftershave if you haven't tried it. It's cheap and really refreshing after a shave, as is the Lea 3in1 balm.
Floid Mentolado Vigaroso is a personal favourite. YMMV
If you dont like menthol then leave it alone. Same goes for Lea 3in1 balm.
Fill your boots.

I haven’t tried Lea, but I have the La Toja and I absolutely love it. It performs as well as some artisan soaps if not better. Post shave is great, slickness, cushion all there… Plus it doesn’t clog your drain…

Lea stick is nice. The lea classic puck is even better IME.

La toja sticks are also cheap in Spain. You should give it a go...wonderful soap!

I have a puck somewhere that I haven't tried yet, is it the same as the sticks?

They are different.
The puck is better in my experience.
Better slickness and better post shave.
The very subtle menthol is a huge added bonus. It's very refreshing without any irritation or watery eyes.
