Mitchell’s Wool Fat

MWF is my desert island soap but I do like Palmolive and ARKO sticks. MWF every time but Wickham for scent - English Rose, Parma Violet. Oh c’est tres bon! Ingram cream for value, menthol, slickness and… ok, I’m a fanboy and here’s hoping Three Pears make a good job of their Ingram relaunch.

Oh aye, MWF. Did I say I love it, scent and all?

Yeah. Palmolive for the win. Mitchells wool fat is second.

Been to the factory this morning for supplies. Emailed in advance and my order was waiting on the counter. Very nice people to deal with. Prices are 50% lower than you pay online. If you are passing this part of Yorkshire - worth a call in. Plenty of boxes stacked ready to be shipped. No factory tours on offer sadly

You don't have to spend huge amounts of money on soap, it feels like a bit of a waste of money when you can get soap of this quality for a hand full of pocket change.
We do what we do and that's all there is to it! Those bloody rabbit holes!

Paul.
Exactly, those bloody rabbit holes!!!!

But, to me, despite how good MWF is as a soap... the lack of a scent I enjoy, actually makes the soap a waste of money to be honest. Its scents reminds the soap we used to use at home for the laundry 50 years ago.

Yesterday I used it again and did not enjoy it..... I only keep it cause it's British made and I like the bowl.

I love the stuff & that’s the beauty of wet shaving we’re all different,
To me if it’s only lack of scent you don’t like then add a couple of drops of essential oils and bobs your uncle

What part of Yorkshire is it ?
i often have weekends all around yorkshire

Just done some sums. For me to break even with fuel, using 50 litres there and back
I would have to buy 26 pucks of shaving soap. And one would last me the best part of a year, so say 22 years worth, I also have at least 20 soaps in the cabinet.
So being 58 this year I don't think I will bother. :ROFLMAO:(y)
The worst thing to do in wet shaving is count what you have,
i’m to scared i just keep telling myself it’s not enough lol
I’m more than happy for a weekend away to Yorkshire and then tell the wife oh i didn’t realise this was here lol

There are other things you could do in Bradford ...

... no, wait. That's not actually true.

It has been on my radar for ages, but as I already have (amongst others!) HWF #3, plus sticks of Speick and Palmolive, not to mention a tub of Wickhams Gothic Revival incoming, I honestly think Phil Mitchell's earwax can go to the bottom of the list. Phew, FOMO avoided for once!

Just keep telling yourselves that you got into "proper" shaving because it's sooooo much cheaper than buying expensive cartridges and you will save a fortune over the years ....

....... That's what i do (y)
Can’t do that with my wife mate she buys me a shed load when i’m abroad
The only thing i can sting her on is my vintage razors. she thinks they are all £15
