What are you eating tonight?

Mine was very random and quick as the old work/ life balance has got a bit skewwhiff lately.

Fried eggs on toasted olive bloomer bread, liberally covered with a load of diced chestnut mushrooms and cubed chorizo fried up with garlic. Once the chorizo starts to cook it releases the oils which then do the business on the diced mushrooms. It was literally "what have I got in the fridge that's quick?" But punched above its weight. I'm saving the rest of the mushrooms to make a cream sauce for pasta. Might bung some bacon in too, or more chorizo.

While I'm on the subject, for the avoidance of doubt, it's "choreetho" not "cho-ritzo". There. I've said it. But, even if you pronounce Spanish things in an Italian-esque way, however you say it, its lovely braised in/fried up with red wine! Or even better, the little bite size mini chorizitos, cooked in the old vino tinto, mmmm-mmmmmhhh!20211008_000421.jpg

Well, I made a reasonable tuna and mushroom sauce for pasta earlier which did me for lunch and dinner, pretty happy with how it turned out. But at this point in the proceedings it will be anything that comes to hand, probably strong cheddar on oatcakes with hot chilli.

Tonight i did tandoori tikka chicken curry (wifey says the house always smells after so dont do it often)
So did it all outside on the bbq.
Marinated the chicken in a home made tandoori maranade for 8 hours.
And grilled on the bbq side of the broilking Smoke XL.
And did the tikka curry sauce on the firebox side in a cast iron pan , cheated a bit on the rice (boil in the bag) less waste that way .
And no smelly house, drooling neighbours texting me asking what i was cooking, but no smelly house, happy wifey.

After a Salami and Mozzarella Bagel for lunch, it's a Steak slice for supper. The other half is complaining about not having a shared delivery.
