hello people so im a noob to slant razors and i have a few questions if you could answer for me please

so looking at slant razors i'd assume theyre aggressive, are all slant razors aggresive or are there mild ones out there too?

do slant de razors come in both open and closed comb?

sorry to sound thick but i've seen a parker semi slant online, so what is a semi slant? is it the same as a standard slant de razor?

are slant de razors food for headshavers? if so, which slant razor would you recommend?

thanks saj :)

just had a look at connaught shaving and the fatip slant razors look really nice,

but im a bit confused looking at them, there seems to be the fatip picolo slant, the fatip originale and finally the fatip gentile slant,

can someone please explain what the differences are?

btw those fatip slant razors look amazing in both silver and gold

FOCS is a well regarded razor. Many people think it is an outstanding shaver. I haven’t tried it, but have used few and liked them. The blades don’t seem to last long in them, but the first couple of shaves are very good.

Some are aggressive, some are not ...

The Merkur 37C, for example, is a mild razor and very suitable for daily shaving, but don't mistake mild for not effective. The slant gets you a sort of two passes in one due to the slicing action.
Yea seems like efficient is a word that suits these slant de razors from what I've read

Finally got around to using the fatip open comb slant picollo de razor I got, it was efficient and nice not sure if it's more aggressive or efficient then the fatip open comb grande I got though

I found the razor very easy to use, very easy to find the angle and actually dont think you'd cut yourself easily tbh imo YMMV

Okay so been thinking about the head shave I had with my fatip open comb slant and I feel like the standard fatip open comb razor just shaves the hair off easier, it's like I understand the purpose of slant razors but it just felt to me like as if I had to keep swaying more towards the side of the slanted razor where it had more blade exposure to really get the hair off, is that normal with slant razors?

It really should have equal exposure each side.

There are videos about how to load a slant because if you look at them and try to make adjustment you'll get it wrong. Basically, put baseplate on a surface upside down, drop the blade onto the top cap, drop the baseplate on and then without touching any of that, screw up the handle. If it feel uneven, loosen hold by the end of the handle with the head below and give it a little shake before tightening up.

I'm so sure I did load the blade properly but I will double check youtube to ensure I'm doing it right

Thanks for sharing the knowledge brother ☺️

guys just a quick one, just loaded a gillette green 7 o clock de blade on my lo storto slant oc fatip razor, for today's head shave, i just want to double check does it look like I've loaded it correctly?

Slants cause an optical illusion when trying to check blade alignment. Slacken off the handle, hold it by the end so that the head is hanging and give it a little jiggle. Nip it up and get shaving.
i read a lot on the fatip slant oc mega thread on b&b that many people love this razor but some did complain about the alignment issue

okay so had a really nice head shave, did notice a difference from the first time i used it,
as daft as it sounds i think the first time i used the fatip oc slant i mustve not loaded the blade properly,
really enjoyed it, i'm loving the slant now and ive just got a merkur 39c slant on its way too

thanks to @GordyC for sending me a tuck of the green 7 o clock de blades which i used for the first time,
i must say its more of an all round blade, sharp enough and smooth, i think its good and i like it,
wouldnt say its my fave but could easily live with it tbh

honestly this fatip oc slant has really impressed me that I've bought it with me on my travels as my travel razor
