Active Pass Around: Fatboy

I am not sure what the conditions are, but I will be passing the Fat Boy on to @Tony'schin next week and then guess take it from there.

It really is a great little razor which makes one wonder how much have we really progressed
No worries at all!

It does make you wonder, I suppose there's little to be done to improve a blade holder once you've got something that covers multiple exposures making it suitable for a wide range, beyond looks of course...to be fair I am sometimes tempted by the shiny new toys though.

@Crossan there is also a Fat Boy in the tardis that is the Newbie Box (along with numerous other razors including an Ever Ready and a Black Beauty.) Once the minimum post criteria is confirmed by someone more clued up than me, I would suggest getting your name down there. It will help you dial in what soaps and scents you like, and the blade bank is now well stocked with numerous brands. It's with me currently but I'm nearly through everything I fancy trying so get your name down on the page.....(y)

Ah good call, I'll take a gander. I had skipped that one when I joined the forum as I've been using a DE for a while so I've gone through a few soaps and blades, but my experience with alt Razors isn't that diverse. To be fair I've got a good few soaps (essentially unused) that might be decent additions to it.

Well that was a pleasant surprise!
First time using a Fatboy and it was a really nice experience, he is a really friendly fellow, the shave started with a nicely scented lather from the HWF, is still only get Patchouli with Cedarwood in the background, i really like it.
I fitted a 4 shave Med Prep and set the razor to #6.
The first pass WTG surprised me as it was smooth, efficient and a pretty mild shaving experience, i was not expecting that, for the XTG pass i opened the razor up #7, the gap is now visibly noticeable, the pass went well, although, i started to get a bit blade feel, nothing to worry about and at no time did it feel as if it was going to bite, i then backed the razor off to #6 to complete the ATG pass, i think that i would settle on #6 as the daily driver.
This blade is showing no signs of giving up the ghost soon.
A nice post shave finishing off with the OSP splash leaving me BBS, comfortable and smelling very nice.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.
