Friday 11th June

Simpson Chubby3 Synthetic - Acqua di Parma Cream - Claymore V2/Proshave S - Acqua di Parma Colonia

A late post night shift shave. The blade continues to impress....very smooth and sharp. 3 passes today as it would have broken my heart if I had washed all of that lovely lather down the sink.
a perfect 'Face Feeling' result :)

Rooney 3/2 Faux Horn Finest (24/54)
Eufros Argos shaving soap (tallow) (sample - lavender, lemon, laurel)
Wilkinson Bonded System (8)
Dopo Barba di Camaldoli

The soap is good but not quite good enough to break into my regular rotation. There is almost a mint note to it.

Friday 11th June

Soap • Proraso Green
Brush • Yaqi Purple Haze Mew Brown
Razor • Rockwell 6C R3
Blade • Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Post • Prorasso Green ASL
Scent • Dunhill Fresh EdT

Rockwell 6C on plate 3 makes for a mild yet efficient shave.
Most of my current razors are a fair bit more assertive, but sometimes it's nice to dial it down a notch or two.
Prorasso Green was made for days like today, a nice cooling sensation was just the ticket.
Finished with the matching ASL, and a Liberal squirting of Dunhill Fresh EdT.

Paul, Bruce & Steve at their best . . . . .

Cloud 'Bruce Lee' Super Stainless (1)
OSP/Shaving Station Spirits Aftershave

I'm trying out a couple of blades from Cloud - their Super Stainless and their (Bruce Lee) Super Blades. Last night I gave the regular Super Stainless a go and tonight, it's time for the Bruce Lee!

Upon shaving, I immediately thought it was, well, exactly the same as the regular Super Stainless ... but then I remember what the Master taught us:

Don't think! Feeeeel!

... and then all was revealed. This blade has Woo! Woo is a very powerful thing amongst shaving paraphernalia and can certainly command a pretty price if discharged right. Alas, for Cloud, they have discarged this Woo carelessly and so it remains a blade that few have heard of, but in quiet corners of the internet and in hushed tones you may find someone camped out in a cemetary who may just be able to tell you all about this blade.

Yeah, it's the same as the regular Super Stainless ... with added Woo!

In glorious technicolour I give you my SOTD themed 'The man with the golden gun brush'

Mary Goodnight - Colonial General V2
(Once again Brit Ekland makes an appearance on my SOTD)

'And why not?'

M - Feather Super Professional
Q - AP Shaving brass 30mm Cashmere
Miss Moneypenny - Abbate Y Mantia Krokos
007 - Abbate Y Mantia Cologne

Nice to be home and have choice. So after two weeks of tugging, pulling and occasionally pushing choice consisted of shaving with something different.

Bring out the big bad brass brush. Bring out the golden soap. And bring out the General V2.

'Psss. Take more note. More good name after Mongoose. General V2'

Polish_20210611_093131473.jpg

What this shave brought about is the importance of having a good base to work on and the need to get the pre-shave correct. Together with the monster brush the Krokos produced an absolutely killer lather and a mountain of it in to the bargain. This is one of those 'a little goes a long way' soaps. Not only that, the quality was there.

The razor I already know simply turns in one wonderful performance time after time, but feed it with something to get on with doing its razor duties and it really does shine. This was one of those sublime shaves with a spectacular finale and a finish so smooth I can't be arsed making up some silly 'smooth as.......' phrases I usually manage to dream up in the nether world of my limited brain capacity. But what a finish and as smooth as...(make up your own phrase here and insert accordingly)

A smashing end to a smashing week of shaves and as happy as I can be. Happy, happy, happy

Have most a most wonderful of weekends you most wonderful of folk and in case I haven't said it for some time, 'I love you'

And to sign the week off and especially for @Digimonkey some Aldious and the beautiful Yoshi to give him a big smile to end the week on. Enjoy

Prep: Shower with Baxter’s of California Daily face wash.
Pre: Baxter’s of California Shave Tonic
Soap: Wickham’s 1912 Magnum.
Brush: Yaqi 26mm lucky dice.
Razor: Rockwell Model T
Blade: Polsilver
Post: Alum, Baxter’s of California Shave Tonic and Baxter’s aftershave balm.
Back on 1 and a half and a final pass on 1 and finally the beast is back in its box! It was almost a whimpering, soft shave with the Polsilver installed. No weepers! Such a great solid piece of kit!

How do you find the Baxter's balm? I got a couple going cheap Amazon and found it a little 'tacky' for maybe 4 hours or so after I'd applied it.
