Prep: Warm shower
Brush: PAA Switchback 400 26mm Roswell
Soap: Zingari Man 'The Navigator' sample
Razor: Dovo Best 6/8
Post: Cold Water and Barts Ben Nevis Lotion

Cracking shave this morning, I seem to have gained some peace to take my time this (rare occurrence). Thought I'd give the navigator a try, smells really nice, I didn't get a lot of cushion but the glide was great. I may have been a bit stingy with the amount so I'll be a bit more generous next time.

Refreshed and ready for the day ahead.

Hope everyone has a grand day

Cheers

Marc

Not the best shave I’ve ever had, not even the best shave I’ve ever had with this Feather razor, yet good enough, and no damage to the face, either. Good result.

Soap - Hampshire Wool Fat
Brush - Zenith Euro X
Razor - Old Type
Blade - Feather (2)
Post - Witch Hazel
AS - Signature Soaps Danum

Another great shave with the Feather, but I managed to pick up a little weeper, no result from applying a touch too much pressure.

As I was using the Cedarwood and Patchouli HWF soap (which is an excellent lather with it's tallow and lanolin, an excellent post shave too) I finished the shave with SS Danum splash. I forgot how superb this splash is, it might sit on the face better of all the post shave products I have owned.

I'm off for my second AZ vaccine this afternoon, it was less than 6 weeks since my first dose.

Have a good day gents.

Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Faux Tortoise
Soap: Proraso Green

Post shave: Cold water splash, TC's Infused Witch Hazel

The Blade seemed to go off towards the end of the shave, the finish was smooth enough, i don't think it will get another run out, its just not worth the chance. So its 2 and out for the Rapira "pink"
A nice shave overall, leaving me BBS and comfortable, a little indication from the splash where i thought the blade was losing it smoothness.

Happy Anniversary to you both Paul

Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

The maiden voyage for my newly acquired 37. Apparently, the head for this fellow was modelled on the original Merkur 37 before it was slightly modified. There certainly is a wider blade gap; and this, I feel, contributes to the assertiveness of the cutlery.

I love the weight of the handle supplied (steel?) and for a razor in the region of £23, the finish isn’t bad at all. Although, is finish that important, beyond aesthetics? As I read somewhere recently, razors are ‘…tools, not jewels.’

Importantly, it gave a first-class shave; 2 passes which ridiculed two days or so of bristles. Great ‘blade feel’ and very, very comfortable to use. I am going through a slant phase just now; and the 37 takes pride of place alongside the Lo Storto and Merkur 37C. I have been scouring sites for the Hoffritz Slant; but most are asking for silly prices; and the condition of some aren’t that great (the ‘tools, not jewels’ adage does have its limitations, you understand).

Anyway, a great piece of kit for the price. Highly recommended.

I have a 1st generation Excalibur which was prone to alignment problems due to the centre post. I thought mine was OK and have never noticed anything before....but with this new make of blade I do notice slightly more exposure at one side of the head and I couldn't make it go away. Perhaps the tolerances of the slot in the blade are slightly tighter?. It made no difference to the quality of the result.

3 passes for a perfect result :)

A very enjoyable, flawless shave with the Dubl Duck today. Recently polished up having made a pin adjustment to better center it earlier this week. Wunderbar! 1623335697367.gif
