What Watch Are You Wearing Today?

Another one fetched from the bowels of the watch box and yet again:

"Hang on ! .. it's stopped !!!! ...... but i only changed the battery a few months ago? ...... Oh, hang on, let me think when it actually was"

I'm sure that is a song we are all familiar with.

Fortunately i had a 371 battery, so in it went with a smear of silicone grease on the o ring and all is well again.

FYI, its the retail version of the last (?) gen RAF issue pilots watch, circa 2013. 20210604_165820.jpg

Thanks for that, it's an interesting looking read and I will make time to read it thoroughly later.

I bought the Pulsar because it was a nice, clean looking watch, rather than any military interest, and because it was on offer.

I have come to find the chrono dials are actuallly too small to be of any practical use and I have been keeping an eye out for a similar looking simple field type watch without any chrono complications

Amen! One a fella reaches bifocal age that very fact radically affects watch choices. At least for me.

A rare appearance of my Flightmaster I thought it was out of production but the odd new stock keeps appearing. Up there with the Citizen E watches for dial complexity.

I see you’ve done a TGV I tried that configuration, but liked the original bracelet more. My NDC strap lives on a Vostok watch that I made. The flightmaster is a very capable watch and very accurate to boot.

Absolutely gutted yesterday as the strap snapped on my trusty Pro-Trek Tough Solar PRW - 5000 , it's my daily workhorse and has been on the wrist for about 11yr, been battered all over and never missed a beat.
Replaced with a Sieko PADI, always liked these, got it for a canny price with a local shops price match.

Today i put a new battery in my classic G-shock DW-5600, as it was starting to go.

Re-lubed the o-ring and put a new Panasonic 2016 in, so its good for another 5 or 10 years (y)

These 2 cover all my watch needs nowadays really - working and "Best" :)

Have exactly the same G-shock on my wrist almost every day of the week; the original and still the best in my opinion. Was gifted my original one when they first came out; must have been around 1984 at a guess. That one eventually packed up (but I still have it), so purchased another, probably around 10-12 years ago. The battery now needs replacing as the display goes if I try to illuminate, which I rarely need to do.
