Hampshire wool fat shaving soap

Just on a side note.... Has anyone who has had this soap for a month or so noticed the ...... Errrr..... Not sure how to describe it...... The errrr “farmy” smell coming through over the Patchouli and cedarwood? Or is that what Patchouli smells like....? It's still ok and lathers well but I just can't help feeling like I'm resting my nose on the back of a pygmy goat .

@CjH , I PIFd mine a couple of weeks ago as I couldn't get on with the background ovine scent. Patchouli's a strong scent on its own, but with the lanolin note behind it I found it a bit unpleasant.

That's a sign of certified tallow goodness.

Take a deep breath and rejoice.

Ok, I can understand why it's not for everyone. I was breaking in a new boar brush and used with a soap which was strong on the tallow smell, and the scent of the new boar brush which was strong with boar funk and chemicals combined with the tallow scent made me feel a bit dizzy when the lather was on face.

It was like the whole barnyard was on my face bukkake style.

The upside was my face was delightfully soft.

Focus on the upside....

Ahhhhh. Well that puts my mind at rest. I didn't think I was imagining it. I still like the soap mind.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add some extra essential oils to a soap that's already made and set?
