February 2021 - 4 for Feb

May I ask what this 4 for February is all about and if I'm able might I take part?
I'm assuming that you can only use four Razor's, Blade's, Soaps and Brushes for the month of February......is this correct?
I only use one razor, razor blade, soap and brush per week now anyway so it will be just what I'm doing at the moment but there could be more rules I am unaware of! :)

I look forward to hearing what's what!

Paul.

Its just a bit fun Paul,
It came from the thread
"No Shaving Purchases 2021 and other suggestions for the year"
I believe each month we are going to try for a "theme".
Last month was "Vintage" month.
I thought 4 items, be it 4 razors, brushes etc would be a bit of a challenge, even more so if you only used 1 of each for the month.
There are no real "rules".
I will post what I will use and then stick to those choices for the month.
I think it came from
SEptember & OCtober themes.
Any suggestions going forward will be great.

Hi All,
Here are MY sets of 4 Kit for next Month, the cuckoo is the Hawk on loan from @Boycie83.
Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Vector, preliminary passes have me really liking it, it also looks pretty cool .

I understand now. I couldn't quite figure it out (I've not been on top form the past few days). I could do this with my FEather FEbruary challenge.

I'll need a bit of flexibility with handles though as I'm testing them on the General :D

I shall gather the 4 this afternoon!

Can I make a suggestion for March?

Only 1 Swap allowed
So choose 1 Razor, 1 Bowl (if you use it) 1 brush, 1 soap, 1 blade brand, 1 aftershave product.
The catch is at the beginning of March you can chose to swap 1 item per week.
So you could swap your razor for week 1. Your soap for week 2, blade week 3, brush week for.
Something along those lines... Open to suggested adjustments.

???

Here's my groups of 4.

4 Razors, 4 soaps, 4 brushes and 4 splashes.

My 4 razors are a Old Type, Fat Handle Tech, Ball End Tech, Yaqi Katana.

All the soaps are vegan, as I largely use tallow based soaps I thought it would be good to give my vegan soaps a bit more attention.

I've pretty much only used the Omega 10077 and the Yaqi Sagrada over the last few weeks, and I don't really expect to use the other two but included them nonetheless.

4 post shave products. As I was looking through my cupboard where I store all of my shaving products, I realized I have A LOT of splashes!

As I was picking my 4 batches of 4, I was trying to pick things which were split between favourites and items I enjoy using but often overlook.

It'll be good to focus on just using a few items for the upcoming month.

SOTD - 1st Feb - 4 for Feb
Heres my first shaving set for this month
Soap - Catie's Bubbles Midnight Dreary - slick with a subtle scent.
Razor - Merkur 37c Slant - hoping to fall back in love with this
Blade - Gillette Super Blue #1 - never used this before.
Post - Mennen Skin Bracer and Nivea Sensitive Balm
Brush - Razorock Monster 26mm Plissoft

First shave of this new theme was not best. Not great lather as used too much water. Self inflicted gusher of a cut on first pass. Blade seems very sharp, not smoothest on this first use. Trying to dial in technique for Slant as I used to have couple of years ago - the shave felt mild but a fair bit of feedback from rarely used alum. Brush hold alot more water than the Yaqi Sagrada and not much backbone either. Post shave was very nice however, soothing this sharp feeling first shave. Got three more shaves in this set up to get more of a balanced view.
Stay safe and enjoy your shaves.
